Default awesome article on power vs handling (MY04 WRX)

http://www.whiteline.com.au/articles...Handling_1.htm

Hot4's (a great australian magazine) did a comparison test between some GC/GD WRX's, and two MY04's in particular were in a really neat competition. "Power mods vs. Handling mods" and how both react on the track and street. One recieved nearly $6g in engine/driveline mods, while the other recieved $6g in handling mods.

It's a good read, and I think many of you will be surprised at the outcome.

Thanks, it's a good read. Possibly one of the best things that has come out of your mouth.

The test was a little weak IMO. You only have one power car versus one handling car. Why not have thre handling cars with different companies products and three power cars with various products (Prodrive Stage 1 vs MRT vs Vishnu or whatever). They said they covered all the variables but they only had two rounds of testing and were only using specified parts...no, let's try it with the Whiteline Coilovers, then lets try it with springs and shocks, let's try it with just sway bars, STB's etc etc.

also, with coilovers, DBA brakes and the rest of the handling package (sway bars) it was only 2.XX seconds faster than stock....I dunno.

I say things that a lot of people think, but are scared to say.

In many ways, your comments are valid. Let's see how the coilovers work, and then the swaybars, etc. But that would make for a pretty long article.

I still think it makes for a great read, and it did answer a few of my questions regarding the power vs handling argument. That explains why there's an 86 civic with huge suspension mods that rapes my Integra on the autoX course, yet he has 100whp less than me.
