Default does Jdm dash harness work in USDM car?

I have a USDM '94 Impreza that is getting a '93 jdm WRX swap. I don't have the dash harness from the '94, and my local junkyard wants big bucks for the one out of a '93 wagon, so I'm wondering if the jdm '93 WRX dash harness will work with my USDM dash.

Anyway, if someone knows, that's great. Otherwise I'll have to try it out this weekend and find out for myself.

I'm hoping that's all I need to do. Flip it 180 degrees, and lengthening wires is easy enough. Paying close to $100 to a junkyard for a stinkin' dash harness that I spent the time and trouble to pull is rediculous.

Hey Mark

Do you have the gauge cluster from the clip. If so i would use all the JDM wiring. I didnt have to mod any of the dash harness. I would run the wires in your USDM car just like they are run in the jdm, they run wires down both sides in the front. The wires that run down the passenger side are for lights, blinkers, those will need to be lengthened, about 15 wires in all. Also the wires that run behind the heater core and around the pedals are TIGHT, make sure you strap all wires so they dont rub. I did a lazy job of that the first time around and its something you dont want to do twice! If you run into any snags let me know, I am sure i could make some time to cruise down. I need a ride in your wrx!

Yo Steve. Yup I do have the jdm cluster, but I'm shying from using it since it only reads km/hr. I'm determined to get this project done by the end of December. My parents will be gone from Dec 26-Jan 4th, so I'll stay at the house instead of my apartment, and work on my project cars 24/7 during that time, since I'm also off from work for 12 days (Dec 21-Jan 2nd...and still paid, baby...one of the good sides of being salaried ). I'd love to have a hand, so if you're up for coming down for any stretch of time to play with the swap, you'd have a place to sleep, food, beer, women, etc., whatever it takes to get an extra set of hands to help (Well, maybe not the women part)

In fact, I'm scheming to do a second project at the same time I already have two project cars at their house taking up space, but I just bought a '91 Nissan 240sx on Friday, with a bad motor for $150. I bought a motor for it on Sunday for $100. I think I'll pull the parent's cars out of the garage for a couple days to swap the 240's motor as well, and have it in and out of there without them ever knowing, lol. Then all that's left is putting the EJ22 into my '93 Impreza wagon w/bad motor, and all my projects will be done...except for restoring the '88 Civic hatch I bought last week too. You have no idea how much I would love to get at least two of these projects done over the holiday break. I'll have my garage, plus the parents garage, and I'm going to work day and night the whole time, so you would have plenty of projects to play with if you want.
