Question Anyone read the letter inquiring about the Impreza in Import Tuner?

He says he has a 1994 Impreza and wants to trade it in. He was thinking about either a Impreza RS or and Eclipse. He said he would like all wheel drive but he is keeping his options open. He also stated about the availability of performance parts and how much money it would cost to make it go fast.

Import Tuner told him both are good choices but the eclipse would be better because it has more aftermarket support. And also says since the car is known for putting out a lot of power and destroying transmissions, they make bullet proof trans for them.

What do you all think?

Have a Nice Day?

Import Tuner? I think I'm going to be sick...

So I was sitting in Borders, 15 minutes of downtime, waiting to pick someone up, and I decided to pick up another "import" mag in the hopes of finding an Impreza. I sat down in the store and without buying the magazine, began to read. I don't normally do this, but I was bored and I wouldn't feel guilty afterwards anyway (though I didn't know that at the time).

What I found:

It's SCC's sister magazine, but it's the one that's aimed towards the under 18 crowd. There are several articles on "how to fix up your first car" from what I observed. Even one on a CRV. I mean, come on, it's a CRV!

It covers Hondas, Acuras, and Hondas, most of them trying to look like better, more expensive cars. The reading is on a 3rd grade level (if that) and the "tech" is almost all "how to bolt on your new AEM kit that your mommy and daddy bought you!". If that's your idea of a magazine, you need to stay the h*** away from any sort of tool, or, for that matter, any sort of car.

The magazine is practically one big advertisement and the ads are indistinguishable from the picture-laden "articles". Many of the cars exhibit severe dissatisfaction at their stake in automobile culture and so are rebadged or disgustingly painted. It is enough to induce vomit, or, in my case, dry heaves.

I'm sorry for ever picking up that magazine, much less reading it. The only consolation was that the Borders' bookstore had a bathroom so I could wash my hands of the matter.

Yes, it was that bad. Where's the barfing smilie when you need it?

yeah its not that good a mag my friend brought me the mag to show me that letter on the Impreza. The only good part about the mag is the take aftermarket parts and put them on the dyno to see how much power they make.

Ha. I was bored waiting for my rotation so I went over to Borders and started flipping through an issue of Max Power. Erm...pictures of naked sixteen year olds and a few Imprezas. Riiight. Man, life is different in Europe...

Trunkmonkey is here! Vinyl windshield banners and decals now available!

I'm going to subscribe to MaxPower UK, It's better than the rags we get here...

But you know why Import Tuner, though it's SCC's sister publication, is so horrible, right? No Shiv...
