Well not everyone is complainng about delayed P1 deliveries, 3 turned up to our latest meet in Playhatch. Taking off the backbox and fitting a ScoobySport one seemed to be a popular mod. Remember anyone coming over to the UK, let us know and, we can let you know of a meet and get you a ride in a Turbo, can't guarantee a P1 mind you

I like the front bumper, but I don't like the way the fogs look. Although, if someone were to hand me the keys to a P1 and said, "take it, she's yours..." I sure wouldn't complain!

Peter Stevens helped design the front bumper and rear spoiler. Apparently this design helps the P1 to achieve 155mph or was it 100mph speed using less hp than the regular styled imprezas.

So no rice there.

Cool

Hi there,

Some P1 owners are selling the wheels.. for about 1250 pounds...

You cant get them in white.. so you would have to have them coated..

Why do you have to complain about getting the P1 late when we CAN'T GET any high performance scoobys AT ALL!!!??? I'm sure we'd be complaining too if we actually had the car launched here..

WTF are you doing SOA!!!???? Demand that we get the WRX-Sti car series over here NOW!

Brucelee.. I'm with you on the front bumper..

Think those lights look like a really tacky after thought stuck in the standard lamp covers.

Oh well could always fit some decent ones I suppose.

Bumper looks better than in real life than on the pictures, but I have to agree about the spots. It looks like a bit unfinished / bodged, of course I'd have one if I was forced into it

Have to say the front bumber has no where near the class of a 22B. It may be effective but it don't half look ugly to me. The spots look down right stupid.

Nope, 22B for me guys (if i wanted to spend 30K plus on a scooby)

don't much care for the look of the fogs, but I like the lip. Like many others, I wouldn't complain if I could actually have one

A bit off topic but for the price of a P1 you could have a 1998 S reg 22B i saw one advertised from a dealer for 31,000 low miles etc.

I love that sonic blue. I think that would be a perfect color when we FINALLY get the turbo. You could make it look just like the rally car minus fender flares. By the time the turbo comes out I hope someone comes out with a good price on some fender flares for a 4-door. Hehehe. It WILL be mine!

Hmmmmm... that front bumper is the same as MY00's with a lip, headlight sprayers, and foglight covers with lights in them. Also the clear bumper lamps as well.

I don't like the holes they put in the front center, kinda takes away from the effect that a front lip has under speed. The fog lights... well someone needs their head checked cause you should either fill up those holes or blend the covers into the bumper. The sprayers are cool, but I'm not sure if 3/4 of us ever have a use for them, though.

Also... why do they have a standard front badge? If I were them, I would have made one with a little Prodrive logo inside of it to go on in it's place.

You have to be careful here about confusing looks with functionality and performance.

Headlamp washers are standard on Impreza's here in the UK and do two jobs - clean the headlamps and, when pressed at the approporiate time, cause tailgaters to drop back (try it if you have them). The lamps are not fog lights, they are driving lights and really give you further visibility at night. The slots are there for air-flow, not looks.

I have driven the P1, two of them actually, and compared to my MY00 Prodive modified turbo (circa 260bhp) they handle slightly better, have much better acceleration and grunt at mid-band, plus they hug the ground better at straight-line speeds over 130MPH. I have some gripes with the car, but not the looks.

Ken, what are they like at 130MPH in the corners though? Thats the real test isn't it?

Still look silly those spots

John, Not something I would like to try with anything I've been behind the wheel of. The quickest I have driven in a straight line (not a Scoobie) is 167MPH. The car went deathly quiet as it hit a sweet spot at 160 and that was eerie.

I have driven a couple of fully rally prepared Scoobies, pushed them pretty hard and they are very forgiving beasts, especially with my driving skills. It has been quite a number of years since I rallied and then it was in Mini Coopers, nothing like the performance of today's cars. I am however importing an STI VI to get back into club rallying, keeping the current car for road use.

I agree, the fitting of the driving lamps looks like an afterthought. But the idea of fitting a different badge on the grill is a joke (read further up) and it ehances the performance how?

Well about the badge, I figured if STi did it, why doesn't Prodrive? Hell, it'd be a good way to signify it is not a normal Impreza to those who don't know them well, right?
