Talking Ahh, the hospitality of the Si boys

I read this post, and thought the response to the story was hysterical. http://forums.clubsi.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/002744.html

I would've raised the B.S. flag once I saw the "bored pistons" remark!! Plus the one where he has NOS and a Greddy Turbo kit at the same time? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Even if he did all the mods, what a waste to mod a civic dx...

Have a Nice Day?

Ahhhh its good to read a post along the same lines as a 580hp street legal and driveable RS. 2 car lengths in first gear? Maybe the Mustang was in reverse? Or maybe the guy was running in the other direction as the Mustang? I think that guy would have to go into the lifetime ban list.

Hey the more I read the links you all post on the Si Club the more I like those guys. They are not all that bad. I would even stick my head out and say not even the majority of them!
Good thing I am selling my RS for a Honda!

Actually they're not bad. They deal with rice pretty much the same way we do. Most ppl who rice out Honda's, I think don't even know how to connect to the net, much less post in a message board
Oh how I wish that were true!

LOL! Well, see? Most of us @ clubsi make fun of and shun ricers/liars/haters.

I wish our club were back to what it was at the begining (more like this club) but it quickly became a stinking flame hole (coincides with a migration of riceboys of all makes/models)

Sometimes some of us argue that clubsi should be a place for Si owners/fans, but then all the other people start raising hell and sh|t..its just not worth it..

hahaha, my god that was so funny, and i loved the BS gauge so much i just had to save it for the webpage...

man, for all the honda guys its pretty funny to note all the stupidity in his mods list, a TD-05 that cant be adapted to the type r engine, a vtec controller and header/exhaust combo (carefully removed from later posts btw) that are nullified by forced induction, and isnt it the LOWER tie bar that goes in front/rear, as opposed to the upper one? hehe

Question

Hey ProgSi maybe you can explain that to me. I do notice that Mustang, Taurus, well EVERYONE posts in the Si Forum. Why is that? I mean this is a Subaru Club and the majority of us own/are looking to own a subaru. So why the identity crises in your forum?

With all the weight of his stereo equipment, stickers, badges, and neon lighting I don't see how he can get off the line at all much less to a two car length lead

hey, who says a 5.0 mustang guy doesn't secretly lust for some 1.6 DOHC VTEC powah? eh? EH?? hehe, thats what i thought

but seriously tho, he says the board has changed quite a bit from the beginning, mainly because of the increasing popularity and hence the proportionally larger group of ricers...

who knows, just MAYBE at some point in time, this club will slowly turn into it... (need i remind you all of the scoop-mounted neon lights and lit-up grille emblems we've been talking about lately...) jus to put things in perspective

I don't think that that will happen anytime soon. The RS is about $5000 more than an Si. I'm sure the rich kids might rice out there rides but IMO most of the Sube's mods are tasteful and not over the top.

ProgSi,

I bet it was a nice small group in the beginning with (on the most part) mature discussions.. But since the Civic was already a top selling econobox when it originally came out, people jumped at the Si.
Then the other ricer civic owners jumped in with the others and made a mess.. I hafta agree with ya though.. I hope our ng doesn't become riddled with those, "my di#$ is bigger than yours" arguments..

Ok this is my take on the whole situation..

Ive been a member of clubsi since it was a little club on yahoo with less than a hundred users, it was nice, we discussed everything that was starting to come out for our cars (because most companies were STARTING to work putting out parts specific for the Si (as opossed to universal civic trims)and we were a tight bunch, most of us mature and de-riced. Then the club got its own domain and changed formats to UBB, everything started out alright, BUT there was this little nagging forum called Si vs. All, a forum that started out with the purpose of people asking questions about how the Si would fair against so and so vehicle, and to relate drag stories. Now, by this time the club had grown a lot, and there were those who started posting obviously fake stories (Si vs stang GT/z28/ram air for example) Now somewhere in the middle, someone started alerting other clubmembers from other BB's of what was going down on that little forum (basically people spouting BS about how the si had beat so and so car) And then the migration began, hordes and hordes of domestics and other brand cars started posting and big flame wars came about. There are SOME domestic owners in the board that have become regulars, and their posts are insightful and somtimes they work as "watchdogs" of sorts. Now on to rice..
clubsi.com was featured in several import mags (you know how these are mostly rice-boy oriented) namely Sport Compact Car, and import tuner (i think) and Grassroots motorsports (good mag though) After those articles, LITERALLY hundreds of new users flooded our boards, and many many riceboys were among their ranks. Now, for me, personally.. the whole problem on clubsi.com resides in the Si Vs All board. If you are a clubsi.com regular, and you were to read the general and the performance forum only, you would see that the topics are VERY similar to the ones here. I believe that if we were to eliminate the si Vs all forum, and come down heavily on flame-inducing race stories, we would have ourselves a happy decent little board. But the admins are all for having the trash talk forum, so we can just sit back and watch the flaming, spamming, hacking of our once beloved gathering spot.

I think that the admin's are too inmersed in keeping the club BIG and with lots of visitors that they are missing the point of having a clubSI..not club HONDA or CLUB ANY FRIGGIN CAR .... rant mode off

btw, my best friend just got his MY00 SRP RS.. it ROCKS.. it has black leather with red stitching.. OMG!! I want!!

I dont belive that this Club will ever become like that. The peolple that run this board have done a remarkable job in keeping it clean and good. Sure from time to time we have some disscutions with a litte flame but hey tell me how many brothers & sisters dont fight from time to time also. Thats how I see this board and the members that make it up, to help each other and some times make fun of each other which is all good to me. Just my 2 centz

Thumbs up

ahh, ya, I noticed all the flames were in that forum. There were a couple of flame posts in the general tho, not many however.

That story reminded me of a kid who came in another car forum. He came on saying he had titanium everything, NOS, headers, intake, ran 13s (Ford Escort) all kinds of crap, and we treated him almost the same way. I just had to pass it on, we all need a good "story" from time to time.

BTW, I have a Aspen White (AW, hehe) 2000 with the black leather with red stitching. Does he have the RS embossed in the Seats? The leather does look sick.

True, every time a member in clubsi draws a topic asking either why are there non-si or domestics or whatever they get flamed to hell by the same people he's asking why they're there. And the moderators just either look away, or plainly say that clubsi.com is not just for Si owners/fans..
GO FIGURE!

Well his leather doesnt have the logo stitched in, IMO (and probably his) i would like it better without it..

btw, there are a lot of us in clubsi that "Stay sideways" as you put it
Hell thats like, one of our sayings too..

Ya, I noticed the moderators don't do much on one post. One dude asked why there were other Civic owners asking questions, granted he was a jerk, but the moderators just let it turn into a gigantic flame. They shoulda just locked it off.

It's not stiched. It's Embossed (I just learned how to do that ), it looks really slick. Mine is the only one I have seen with the factory installed leather. The RS logo looks like it was imprinted in the leather, it's right below the headrest, and doesn't have stiching around it. Really cool.

Joel

I agree with what most of you guys are saying Honda and Subaru owners alike. I think that there are some good discussions on the Si board but they are outweighed by bad discussions where someone cannot post without using 100 obscenities in the same post. Oh well that was a good laugh guys.

Chris

Whats with all the Mustang and Firebird owners over there?

Well yeah..but if you ignore the Si vs all board, and only read general and performance (like the boards here) youll see that it isnt too different than this board.(although it is true that the moderators take to long in closing threads)
