Question [OT] electronics & cell phone stores?

hi there,
can u tell me what/where the big electronics stores are in vancouver?

i'll be landing on a sunday in mid jan. and hope to buy a new cell phone. I hope such stores have sunday hours!

also, what are the big cellular companies? I need to find a plan that has free roaming & long distance in the usa.

many thanks for helping an incoming newbie!

Future Shop (they're our version of Best Buy), Staples, A&B Sound, and Visions are a few big names. There's a lot of these stores scattered around the lower mainland/vancouver area.

maybe a "rogers" phone would be the best ,they are part of the AT&T network wich is big in the USA (I think), they may have a roaming package

i think Fido might be better coz they have no contract you can stop the plan anytime , also i think they have a long-d plan that is not bad. you can go with the city Fido for $40

fido is good for this area only I don't think they can support once you are deep in the state. I know Rogers does because of AT&T in the state. I used to Rogers and it was pretty good reception down there.

Check out:

http://www.bellmobility.ca
http://www.telusmobility.com/
http://www.fido.ca

Check these sites out. Once you find a service provider, then you can go to almost any storefront cell-phone shop to grap a phone.
