so i go out to get into my car that im suppose to trade in tommorow for an sti and start it up and knock knock knock, loud as hell. my dad comes running out of the garage yellig SHUT IT OFF. im screwed, so much for trading it in right, maybe this is a sign. so i check the oil, make sure nothing is loose or touching the fan. nothing, start it up, and knock knock knock except much softer, kind of a metallic ping noise. so call subaru and everyone is thinking timing chain, out of time, interference motor ****, piston and valve meeting, not good. bent valve result. i dont know, subaru towed my car about 5 pm and they will call me at noon tommorow with the results. i hope its just a broken tensioner or just loose. i dont want a freaking piston skirt floating around. its all warrenty and now lamb tells me they will give me a clean bill of health to prove my car is fixable and will be fixed and i can trade it in still. but the problem is pitre and cambleback have not seen it so they have no idea how much to give me. lamb will do it ofcrouse cause they can see it. they have a blue sti on the lot that might be a test vechical with to many miles. i wonder if they can hook the obd II up to the computer and show me tach sweeps under 4k. i dont know, how many miles is to many on a possible test driven sti. i would hate to get an imporperly broken in sti. subaru says about 3 weeks for parts and labor at worst. so there goes the before christmas and end of year deals for subarus. if its not one thing its another, damnit,. so wish me luck, any advice please lay it on me. thanks guys. ill keep you updated. laters. ryan sorry about the long post.
