It's Christmas Day here already and it's actually sunny right now. 3 more hours for you good folks back home.
As for the 'monsoon', a couple of weeks ago after about 1/2 of 'rain', the puddles were over 8" deep. Needless to say, my front Oxygen sensor got submerged and decided to pack it in. It may be wet in YVR, but there is Whistler.....I might be moving to NY in 6 months time, even colder, ....but you guys have Whistler.... Just to make Yenners and other Singaporeans in YVR drool a little, the Singapore/Malaysia Subaru Club is holding an Advanced Driving Course in Sepang in 1.5 weeks time!!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. |

As with anything in Asia, there are a lot of 'replica' parts, especially body kits.
Looking at the threads in the forum, it seems that in Singapore the availability of Japanese parts is greater. Most of the time, if there is something that you want and the store does not carry it, they would specially order it for you, but it will take a month or two. They would order everything from body parts to engine / suspension performance parts to wheels and tyres. I have personally ordered tyres in. As for a price comparison, I do not have the data, but like anything in Asia, is you know someone in the trade, it can be much much cheaper. Most things here are done on a relationship basis, no such thing as "no-dicker-sticker" price. To give you an example, I have known people who have bought the same wheels that I have from the same shop and paid S$100 more each. At the same time, I'm sure that I did not pay the least either. If you give me an indication of the exact pieces that you are looking for and the price you get for it, a true comparison can then be made. Hmmmm...maybe even a trading relationship can be forged.... |

I did make a rough comparision between Civic parts as I owned one there. The price is roughly the same if you know where to shop (in USA) I would say that there's a slight advantage of buying form USA as they usually are larger companies and they do keep some stocks, as for SGP, most of the time you have to special order it. Me 2cts. Oh and for tires, SGP wins hands down..., Tires in Vancouver are *&*#ing expensive!!! Easily 30-40% more for the Exact same product. |
