Its either a V3 or V4 .

V5 still came with a coil pack, except its mounted on the left side of the intake. Intake manifold is also different. Same as the V6. Never seen coils for each cylinder aside from the early V1-2 and later V7-8

The Ver 5,6 also had the BOV mounted on the intercooler, this one doesnt. I dont think this engine and parts is worth 5000 US dollars, maybe around $2000. If its a R/RA it would be worth slightly more. It was hacked out of the car and will be missing many parts to make it work. You can get a clip for about that price and it should have everything you need. Your exhaust and rad would work. Unless you plan to spend a couple G's more to make it work you should steer clear!

stick with a nasioc vendor. there are tons of them selling complete motors for cheaper. and you know you are getting good stuff.

this smells like a scam to me.

I doubt you'll find a full STi swap for $6k USD.

You might want to contact Lachute Subaru in Quebec. They've quoted me an '02 CDN WRX swap for around the $$$ you want to spend. IIRC, it was just a bit more but they might work w/you a bit.

As more and more USDM/CDM WRXs are wrecked by asshat drivers the $$$ of EJ20s will come down even further. You might want to look for a full front clip. I saw some a while back for like $4k USD.

Good luck.

Good visual inspection. They are correct V3 or V4! Its still rated at 280ps but definately not worth the 5gs they are asking!!!

Lachute Performance is liquidating a bunch of STI parts, give them a shout if you are in the market.

Free shipping to the US, that's what made me question it....I'd pass, or have someone try and look at it.

OMGHi2U Stuff!

Be careful when buying a motor like this, as I get 15 emails a week, trying to get parts off my cars to finish peoples conversions!
Since I buy complete car that are running, and sell everything that I take off of them as a kit. You get everything and that cost $$$. Its like pay now or pay later, Mark at La Chute will tell anyone the same thing!

You also need to know that there are very few Ver. 6 out there since 1999, which means lower miles, and newer which translates to Higher dollars!
You are better to buy a complete V3 to V5 for less!$$ and get everything!

Some guys are lucky and get a unbelievable deal! But many more get into a project and realize they are Hosed!

That is why Kit Car Mag claims only 25% of kits sold are ever completed! #1 reason for not completed is Cost over Runs!

Go into it with your eyes open! Call with questions!
