Question SteetGlow Neons?

Anyone ever had experience with StreetGlow and any of their products or any other manufacturers of neon lights? I have been curious as to how my 2.5RS would look with some neon highlighting in certain areas (such as the grill, the hood scoop, etc. Has anyone done or seen this before? Anyone know legality issues with California? Thanks for any and all info.

they are illegal in Cali I bet. Anyway, there was a blue 98 RS at Carlisle with blue neon underneith, and blue neon in the footwells. It's looked pretty nice. Here's the pic, not great, but you see them. The two guys in the car aren't the owners, it was a girls car, they were playing her playstation

(my attempt at posting a pic)

WOOHOO IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!

I think any form of blue lights on the outside of the car are illegal, since those are reserved for the police.

Don't tell anyone, but I will fess up to having a Street Glow black light in my old Legacy...it was mounted on the ceiling so that it illuminated the two front passengers. Sure looked cool if we were wearing white...never mounted anything outside the car though.

Thumbs down

ok, im sorry, NO. freakin neon exterior lights are not nice looking, they look BEYOND ugly, hehe. i had 3 blue interior bulbs in my overhead and courtesy lamps on my civic and they showed up pretty nice on the dark interior. putting a giant neon bar inside your grill or across your hood scoop will NOT make it look nicer or more aggressive, i mean come on! do you really want to go all-show like that?

Thumbs up

Hey, if it's legal and you like it, go for it. If it's illegal and you like it, Hope you get a way with it. If you paid for it it's yours, right? I resent that last statement. I was thinking of a YELLOW badge. After all, Yellow = Performance. Probably good for 5-10 hp.

Who painted their interior white and blue? Imagine THAT with the black light in it. That would look cool.

Have a Nice Day?

A little offtopic but since we are talking about black lights I thought I'd share a little interesting memory of a 20/20 episode I saw....
They wanted to see how clean hotels and motels were. They took a blacklight into the room and you could see um...well lets say "splats" of "stuff" all over the place, especially the remote and the bed cover sheets. When they checked the bathroom, they found E.coli on the toilet and shower. And this was even in five star hotels... Pretty nasty stuff-thought I'd let you all know about that stuff-Oh yeah...They checked under the mattresses and found actual bed bugs (not the tiny ones that all beds have) but like ones that are an inch long...
And since we are talking about such nasty things, I want to warn you all about restraunts and those mints. Since people don't wash their hands after using the bathroom, scientists found a high sample of urine on the wrapper....Tasty eh?
One more thing...You know that dirt under your fingernail? Biting your fingernails in those spots is worse then licking your own butt....
Food for thought...

When I got my RS there still wasn't available parts for the car to add the trunk light and nobody had yet done it. So taking the easiest approach I just got a magnetic pickup mounted in the rear of the car and installed a 20in Blue neon light in the trunk up high enough it wasn't visible. It also has a fiberglass shroud that it sits up behind to make it harder to see. When the trunk is raised all the way the light comes on. It was the easiest way to do it at the time and best of all it cost me very little since friends own a stereo shop and had an old one in the back. They donated it and installed it. Yah now I hate it but since I am never riding in my trunk I don't really care that much about it. Me and the trunk monkey think its rice but only he has to see it not me. It will be coming out after I get back in the US and the car is getting its other parts put in. For those of us who were around at the start of the club they will remember the lack of knowledge we had to over come. Now you just ask a question and regaurdless of how technical somebody will find the answer for you.

damn Xoom, it worked for a little, oh well. Rice, nah, I think it looks cool on some cars. Now when you can actually see the Neon bar, that's STUPID!!! It wouldn't fall under the rice category, just the taste one. The lo-glos on that car looked cool IMO. Oh and thanx andrew, I don't think I'll be able to eat/sleep for the rest of my life.

Yeah, my friends are trying to convince me that if i got a red Night Rider light installed into my hood scoop it would look cool. I have to admit, I was actually considering it for a while, then i just realized how stupid it was.
