Default Camshaft Position Sensor

I have a 2002 Wrx with 36,000 miles. I have had the camshaft position sensor cause CELs constantly since the first day I owned it. It only happens on hard launch in 1st gear. Dealer has said it is nothing but after 6 CELs he replaced the sensor twice, but it still occurs. If left alone, error code clears after a few days. Any ideas why this is happening. I have ignored the problem since it clears all the time, but now it is happening more often.

According to the guys at Cobb occasionally an aftermarket pulley will create this issue. If you have one, you will have to live with the CEL issue or go back to your stocker. If you haven't swapped out your pulley, and the sensor has been replaced, I have no clue.

I don't have any mods except silencer removal and K&N Filter, which have no effect. The dealer says he will contact subaru to seek help with this problem.

Wasn't this a reflash issue?

the cam sensor not crank sensor
could be bad wireing
would be intersting to do an impediance check on the wires back to the ecu...
