There is no documentation that I am aware of. If somebody would like to write it up I'll be happy to add it to the FAQ.

Default How about some definitive info?

A documented swap would be excellent, but until then, maybe a collection of definitive info would be good? After searching through all of the threads, I have generally read that an EJ22T swap into a GC8 is very straightforward, but for those who have done it, what specifically is needed for the swap, and what speficically is to be expected? I keep seeing it mentioned that the stock ECU can be used, along with the 2.5 heads (SOHC or DOHC) and that all that is needed along with the block itself is a legacy oil pump.

Considering someone wanted to use the block as is with stock internals, what else is needed, and what else is to be expected or modified during swap, (injector mounting and location?) Also, what type of work is required to finish the project, being that it is straightforward?

Expertise much appreciated.

Are you asking for a full EJ22T swap or just a shortblock swap?

Just a shortblock swap, to build a 'hybrid' with current EJ25 heads since it seems that's what many people with GC8's do. This would be the most straightforward option, no rebuilding of the block, all the existing sensors and wiring would be used.

There should be lots of that information in the Aftermarket Forced Induction section.

Please dig around and post it up in here once you find it. I'll put it up in the FAQ.

Oh believe me, I've dug There isn't a thread I havn't read. I guess I'll agree with DrunkenDragon, a documentation of the most simplified shortblock swap would be good.

well I just did the whle swap ecu and whole engine. It is fairly straightforward, as said the wiring can be a pain. The mechanical part was very easy, we just had to make a few adjustments for the coolant line and the throttle body. The hardest part I did was try to install a wrx intercooler on it. I would be glad to help if needed.
