Default Legacy Turbo Wiring Questions

I'm in the beginning stage of an ECU swap from a '95 Impreza L 1.8 to a '93 Legacy Turbo. I started working on the engine standalone harness out of the Legacy Turbo harness yesterday, but I have a few questions I hope someone could help me with. Is it necessary to use the Super Multiple Junction? I was thinking of not using it, but don't know if it's really needed or not. For the A/C sysem, does anyone know the proper way to integrate the wires the ECU needs into a '95 L 1.8 so that it will continue working? It seems the 1.8 ecu has 4 wires going to the A/C system, while the 2.2T has 2 or so. Does anyone know where in the instrument panel the wires from the 2.2T go? As in, which wires to tap into? Would it be best to use the igniton and fuel pump relays that came with the harness? When finished, should I pretty much just have the wires that come out of the ECU? Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

One other thing. Can someone tell me what the Select Control Monitor is? I see that some of the wiring goes to that, but I don't think it applies to the Impreza. Thanks!

I found out what I wanted on the SMJ, but I'm still curious about the A/C wiring and the Select Control Monitor, as well as any advice on the instrument panel wiring. Any help?

Now I'm really confused, and I hope someone can actually help me on this one. I'm trying to figure out how to run the radiator fans from the 1.8 setup with the EJ22T ECU. It seems that the 1.8 ECU has 2 wires going to the radiator fans; 1 for the main fan relay, and 1 for the sub-fan relay. The EJ22T ECU only uses one wire going to the main fan relay.

I must have looked over the diagrams 30 times now! I don't have a Chilton's, but I have a Haynes for the Legacy, as well as FSM wiring diagrams for both vehicles. Do you happen to know the connector and pin numbers for both?

actually now that i look at it, the chiltons shows a Green/Red wire that activates the Main Fan Relay No.2 , but i can't find the ecu pinout anywhere.

i had my 2.2 wired up except for the fan/ac and instrument panel, and it didn't start so i bought a ecu out of ohio and am waiting for it, i was gonna piggy back the 1.8 ecu into the 2.2 harness so i could drive the car, that way i could just plug the 2.2 when i got a new one. but i cut a lot of the connections i made so icould sort the wires better and make them all the same length so i have a cleaner harness, i was just gonna do the fan relay and a/c last, if there is a Green/Red wire left than that will be it

Let me know if you have a red/green wire left!

A friend informed me that the Legacy Turbo ECU only uses one wire going to the main fan; when the main fan comes on, the sub fan is triggered. I think I'm going to try hooking both wires from the Impreza ECU to the Legacy ECU and see what happens.

it should work that way, it looks like it's supposed to kick the fans on when you turn on the a/c but they would come on any ways because the car would be at operating temp

i guess it's possible, but when you go through emissions might be your only prob, but if he has a scanner (i assume) then he can scan it to see if it says the necassary things to pass emissions
