Thumbs down

I was wondering because I have a set too. ISR told my mom they were waterproof on the phone, but my mom said they didn't seem like it to her when they came. So I figured I'd find out. Now I'm a little ticked.

I really don't want to spend 200 dollars on seat covers! is this the only place to get them?. For 200 I can get a recaro racing seat frame!

Thats ok, my mom waterproofed them herself. So its all good. I just didn't want my muddy Great Dane jumping into the back of my car and messing up the upholstery.

Telling someone your product is something it's not is not IMHO "doing a(n) awesome job." Besides that, however, their service was exemplary and I will order from them again.

Angry

Firstly, I ordered from ISR and am satisfied with their prices and service. I will most likely continue to patronize them. BUT - Those seatcovers are NOT real STi items. THey are as fake as the Mexican Bart Simpson statues in Tijuana, or the $5 Pearl Jam t-shirts you can buy on the off-ramp after the show. I am not going to speculate on the origin of those seatcovers, but I think that ISR-badged covers would have been classier and, well, ethical, and..legal. STi is a registered trademark, you see. Same basic thing as the "replica" STi CF Strut brace. There's no such thing as a replica strut brace. You make a replica of the whole car, not a part of it. I think that the whole STi thing is a way to squeeze more money out of us, but I really think slapping thatlogo on any old product is cheesy...not in the good way. If quality and authenticity is important to us as a group of consumers, we need to lean on retailers to come correct.

PS- and would it kill them to maintain some inventory? Every time I order something, they have to order it from the manufacturer, and then just re-ship it to me! Why pay the markup, just so they can act as a distributor? I wish we could go factory direct.

In reading the description off the page..

I didn't get the impression they were saying that they were STI made..

states they are "custom" made seat covers.. to emulate the look of the STI seats..

SEAT COVERS STi

Custom made seat covers in Black & Gray with Sti embroidered in Pink. Custom Fit for the RS. Includes Front & headrest & Back seats. Back has Sti on them also

just my thought.. like STI would really make seat covers... heh
