I know it's been posted amdmaxx, just showing it again for easy reference. After all, this is the USDM Legacy thread and that is the USDM Legacy marketing tool.

I'd go for a nice sensible 250-280hp/same torque numbers with current NA mileage, and a nice sleepy insurance number. Reflashes are cheap and nearly undetectable.

I just need the 165hp, leather, and manual transmission Legacy. That's good enough as I do not need a car with a lot of hp.

God that would be great! But I don't think it's likely. Most press speculation seems to say it'll be around 250hp which I hope is just a ploy by SOA to put people (and the competition) off the scent until they unveil a nice 270-280hp engine..

The STi trick worked once with the WRX STi. Let's see if Subaru can pull out something like that again.

As it gets closer I just wish SOA would give us a proper winter package with a pass through ski sock. Subaru sells a ton of cars to we skiers and I hate ski racks. Audi & BMW have offered a ski sock in their wagons and sedans for years. Why Subaru hasn't offered this is beyond me.

My next Subi will have leather and I don't won't it getting ripped up by skis. Riding in the open on the roof ain't an option and I don't want a box up there ruining the new Legacy's lines.

STi weighs 3263 lbs, the new Legacy is reported to weigh some 200 lbs less than it's predecessor (approximately 3165 for manual). It seems unlikely Subaru will give the Legacy 300 HP and thusly make it a quicker car than the STi.

I don't see why not. If the 300 HP Legacy costs more than the STi, I would expect it to be quicker. New flagship?

The only way to beat the STi news of last year would be a > 2.5 L turbo model I doubt it.

After we get USDM bumpers and a heavier 6MT, I wouldn't be surprised if our Legacy sedan is closer to 3250 lbs. I'm tired of speculating. I'll just sit back and wait for the official news. My lack of a point is just so that I can get the email notification, so I'll just pipe down now.

6MT is still speculation too isn't it? I know it was mentioned in some focus group survey but that's all we got right?

If it has been confirmed then that's great!

6MT is likely. As I'm told, USDM is supposed to be first market to get it (we're the most abusive), I've been told by 2 respectable sources outside the survey. Timing of production ramp-up has been uncertain and wasn't early enough for the JDM release in May supposedly. Supposed to weigh not much more than the current 5MT. They didn't think about the STi 6MT as it is overweight and would stop the diet it is going on.

As for a pic archive, I can host all the pics on my site, but I won't be able to until I add the extra space probably later this month. I think bandwidth is unlimited. I've never hit a bump so far. I'll collaborate with username to bring everyone the best content possible.

BTW, I never said I would beat username on content, just to making this thread.

Subaru is expected to reveal the next-generation Legacy sedan and wagon models to North America for the first time at Detroit in January. Already on sale in Japan, the latest Subarus have new interior and exterior styling as well as longer wheelbases with larger wheels. The new chassis is more rigid, and there was considerable weight reduction for the new models. A multi-function display with a 7-inch LCD screen will be available, as will a DVD-based navigation system. In addition to the new models, Subaru will feature the B9 Scrambler in its North American debut. The sporty roadster concept features a hybrid powertrain and, of course, all-wheel drive.
