Cool Sean's in-car AutoX video and Wintrode's sideways slide through the final gate!

I finally pimpslapped my video board into accepting a clean signal and I have some fairly decent MPEGs up on the Trunkmonkey site from the Camden AutoX on the 24th. There's my first (slow) and best (fast) runs and Wintrode's awesome slide through the finish gate!

I pulled a 59.682 and Wintrode pulled a 54.852 for the fastest Scooby run of the day for the first and second wet heats (his time rocked considering he was sideways for most of the last few gates and yes, he beat the 22B that was there which pulled a 59.000). I don't know what the times were for the third heat. Those lucky bastages got a dry track. Teehee.

There is also a turn by turn still capture showing every single gate.

I downloaded the videos the other day and forgot to watch them, but they were fun.

I really like the way the car slid through the finish with no body roll, looked better than Richard Burns!

Good job,

Hey Sean thanks for posting this, and bumping it back up to the top.

Now all that I have to do is repeat this kind of performance on a regular basis, and then maybe I'll be half-way to being a good autoX driver.

Hey, the Sun shines on a dog's ass every once and a while That was some nice driving, I really thought I'd won the class then he comes bombing through and crushes by time by like 7/10ths. Oh well atleast he loaned me his old 18-22mm bar since he got the Rallispec trophy (22-24mm bar).

Sideways enough. It looked more dramatic in person. A novice in a BMW did a 180 out of the last gate at Camden yesterday and rolled through the lights backwards. That was cool. Then his friend decided to go do donuts in the lot after we were done packing up. That was uncool.

Yesterday also had 2 or 3 random people (not Auto-Xers) try and drive straight through the course! That was really not cool. "Gee, speeding cars, cones... well, the river is still there so I think I'll just drive through this mess to go fishing..." I saw at least two groups of people get escorted to the edge of the water to go fishing. Nobody understands that the lot in Camden is not public property! But how could you possibly decide to ignore all the cones and speeding cars?!

Oh well...

Alex

Alex - Yeah, and you can't forget the guy who was letting his dog run free out into the slalom. I believe that was after you left. Ditto for the guy in a huge pickup. He just drove through the cones and started going for the waterfront. Moron. Then about a dozen kids on BMX bikes rode in and tried to slalom the cones WHILE A CAR WAS RUNNING. Morons.

Maybe I am stupid... that's usually the case... but how did you break your tires loose when you launched?

Cool

Coincidence and good timing. The squeal is actually the guy two cars in front of me squealing through the last hairpin before the left-right into the finish line.

For some reason, I broke my wheels loose at every launch at yesterday's autox, & this is dropping from around 3000 rpm or so. It was a pretty grippy go-kart track too.
