Thumbs up Happy New Year to all my freinds at NASIOC!

So I'm sitting here clearing the TiVo of old crap in preperation for SpeedTV's WRC rally-thon tomorrow.

I'm relaxing my lately tense and tired self with Freixenet Cordon Negro 'Brut' champagne drinking straight from the bottle and I'm kickin the jams to NIN while watching 'From Dusk Till Dawn' and dry firing my paintball markers at my bigscreen as I clean and prep them for play on Sunday.

Life is good.
God is too.

Last year pretty much was the suxor all things considered.
My wife & BabyJanq at just 3 mos. old and I came oh so close to being news fodder in March, I had to put down my beloved 9 yr. old Akita 'Kato' on July 31'st due to a freak injury he incurred (I miss him so much that to even think of his name brings tears to my eyes), Mrs. Janq and I have been operating on a minimum of sleep (about 4-6 hrs. per 24), we celebrated our 10 yr. anniv. in October but were sick and mad at each other over something I don't quite remember right now other than the aniv. weekend sucked, BabyJanq is healthy but darn if she doesn't live like a vampire and party like a rock-star (my mom always said she hoped I'd have a kid like me), and I've got several ounces of weed that my mother in-law gave me but I forgot to buy papers earlier and now I'm too splashed to drive though I'm sober enough to recall that I know better. I'll have to start drinking this champage faster as I'm getting ideas to head down to the Mobil to pickup some Zig-Zags.

Anyway I've been here in OT a short time (since September) and on the board in general just a bit longer (February '03). In that time I've made new friends both local and far, as well as a few enemies and haters here & there. More of the former than the later though so I'm ahead of the game considering my newbie status.
Overall though I've come to enjoy this site immensely. The people are real cool, the information is for the most part usefull & accurate and the day to day action typically refreshing.

So I'd like to offer all of you at NASIOC a Happy New Year and look forward to more fun specifically in OT through 2004.

You guys and gals are the ro><or and my friends here are top drawer in my book!

Best Regards,

- Henry aka 'Janq'

Happy New Year Henry,

Just remember, as you look at beautiful Mrs. Janq and adorable BabyJanq exactly what is important. The first year of your first child is...simply put...hell. It gets better. Much better. Hang in there, cause it's worth it.

You've got a great family, a head full of a ridiculous amount of knowlege, and good friends (IRL I'm sure, as well as here).

Looking ahead to 2004...it's a huge year for me. Professionally, this summer I will fly the coop and attempt to do this thing I've been training what seems like forever for. On my own. It's more than a little bit scary, but to tell you the truth, it's more exciting than frightening. I just hope my mentors have prepared me effectively.

I've been a member since early in 2001. To tell you the truth, there isn't a member that has fascinated, interested, taught, and entertained me, about a more wide and varied subject, more than you have. I know you put a lot of thought into just about everything you post here. I thank you for that.

Looking forward to one day meeting you face to face somehow...

Neek

I remember making the decision to do the same thing, 8 short years ago, and the terror I experienced was worst than anything I've gone through since including bringing my child in to the world. What I can offer to you though is that you will find no more exciting and challenging an adventure in life than striking out on your own.

Further I will go so far to say that your odds for success are high if only because you mentioned that having "mentors". Everyone should have atl least on mentor if not multiple and everyone of a certain age or station in life should mentor someone else.
As having the fore thought to seek out and secure a mentor outs you ahead of the many Jack's, Jane's and Joe's who set out on their own with nothing more than an idea and desire.
Best of luck to you Neek but you won't need it, this I predict.

One last item, that was a great quote choice.
Nothing more to be said on that subject.

Best Regards!

Happy New Year!

I'm not going to make any resolutions, but I will try to commit myself to making improvements in my life. Nothing major, but rather, small, noticeable changes in habits and routines. Off the top of my head:

1) Spend less time on the internet - this includes bbs like nasioc and livejournal. While I enjoy using them, they are a huge expenditure of time.

2) Create a realistic, manageable budget

3) Learn to better manage my time, and get organized.

Basically, I just want to get on top of the little things in life that seem to always find a way to bite me in the ass. After taking notice of my habits, I've realized that the main source of many of my problems is lack of orginization, be it with time, belongings, or whatever.

I feel much more clear lately than I have in years, and I intend to use that clarity to it's greatest potential this year.
