Interesting. Although i have a hard-on for the type 8 bar(98 on style) with lights i can't think of more than a few occassion where it would come in handy for my driving habits.

That brumby looks just like the ol Brat, eh?

Thanks for the link, Chris!

The Type 8 would look good on the Baja T. Any way to import those or is there someone offering them in the U.S.?

Importing these;
Ya, some vender here on NASIOC does. I stumbled on the link while reading search results for something else here on NASIOC.

The Brumby is cute aye!

The Austalians take their offroading seriously. Some of those styles look like "Roo" bars. They defect Kangaroos off your car or truck while you are screaming down the outback highways. I guess they start running in small groups and disreguard the cars and road much like deer to here in the U.S.

So I told the boss that we should get one of those conservative ones for our Baja since she's already hit a deer. Well, she's thinking about it.

The other alternative is going to a stock car race shop, where they built their own cages and stuff, and have them build you one. Also a color matched bar or light hoop would cool. Ralli-Spec here in the North East used to make them. Not sure if they still do. Just tossing out some ideas.

Just curious.....

Do most people who install these bars only use them for off-roading? It would seem that if you kept the bars on for normal road use that it would render the airbags useless.

The site says they're airbag compatible.

But as much as i love the type 8 bar, i wouldn't be using it and it would only be there for looks. I'm not big on only looks/ no usage so i'll probably never get them.

That's cool that they're airbag compatible. I agree with you though, I would never buy them just for looks.
