Question Differences between US EJ20 and JDM EJ20?

I am a total Subaru noob, and had some questions. If there is a FAQ with this information, please post a link for me.

The JDM WRX makes 280hp, right? What are the differences between the US spec? More boost, different internals, etc, etc???

Thanks

i know the jdm motor has varible valve timing, which they took out of the wrx because of our crappy gas, i believe the sti has it though since it is required to run 93 octane. i'm sure there are other things, i just odn't know them. hope this helps

Default differences

Engine Codes: JDM EJ207
USDM EJ205

207 has a semi closed deck with forged internals.
205 has an open deck with cast internals...
207 has twin oil grooves in the crank for superior cooling....
205 has one.

those are the major differences, the cylinder heads are also two total opposites...

Check out Rallispec.com for information and pictures on what a 207's internals look like...
