I found one... actually a few in CO with low miles. I have to get back to CO and sell the RS first though.

Check out Cars.com. THere aren't any for $2k but there are a couple good specimens for around $5k.(look brand new)

Heh, I'm also looking for a cheap Miata. I'm looking to turbo the snot out of it. Is it just me or are there no cheap Miata's up here? And it's the dead of winter too, I thought this was when all of the dowdy secretaries decided to sell their convertibles because it's so cold... I may go down to AZ during spring break and try to find one there, seems like there's a lot more available over there. I've also thought of printing some business card looking things that I can put under the windshield wipers of Miatas I see when I'm out and about. Something like: "Want to sell your car? I may be interested in buying your car for cash. Call xxx-xxxx" etc..

There aren't "cheap" miata's anywhere it seems. You can however find a super low mileasge car in CO because people don't drive them in the snow. That's what i'm banking on.

My plans have changed a little though. I am planning to get a bone stock 97 or 99-00 miata. I'll buy another set of wheels, a set of azenis, and some snow tires and call it a day. Then when i get out of school next year i'll have the platform i want to modify. Basically i've just been bitten by the sports car bug pretty badly.

does he want to help me rebuild the engine?
actually what I really need is to borrow the special flywheel removal tool, I hate to spend 150 bucks on one for one use.
