Default JDM sti 6 speed ? with suretrack

Hi all, I'm wondering if all the jdm 6 speeds have sure track/lsd? I've read on lachutes site that there are three different versions of it available, so that makes me think that it is optional.
Transmission is from a 03 jdm wrx sti non ra car. Been searching for the last 2-3 hours and haven't found any concrete answers or a way to decode the number.
Here's the number if anyone know's how to decode it: ED-TY856WB3KA

Another question, is there anything visually that gives away the dccd option just by looking at it?
Thanks
Brent

Hey Jeff, I have a WB2GA 6MT and while it does have the tranny cooler lines, it does not have a DCCD.

Serious: Your tranny is not DCCD.

Benjamin: Your tranny seems DCCD.

DubuRX: Your tranny is not DCCD.

Dubu: As someone already posted on another thread.

"If it has DCCD, there is a a wire harness that goes from the reverse , neutral switch on the left side of the gearbox and goes to the right rear of the casing. Its a white plastic plug/grommet that the 2 wires go into the case."

So are all sti transmission limited slip, either viscous or suretrack type, from the factory on a 03 jdm engine?
Do you know how one would check for a sure track/viscous differential in the front? I would think if you turned the front hubs the other wheel should go the same way right?
If this is the case, then i looks like i got F$%ked both ways (lsd and dccd)

So i tried turning the wheels and the other one went the opposite way. I know if you do this with the rear lsd it goes the same way.
What you are saying then that i can't test it this way? How can i test it if at all? I've tried posting numbers and nobody really knows anything on it.

Hmmmm...i hope your catolog is wrong. I just took some pictures to let everyone else look at the thing as i don't really know what i'm looking at. By the description above with the two wires i think i have it. It starts between the two plugs, crosses over to the passenger side and goes into a white plug with two holes.
What do you-all think?

Brent:

The tranny on those photos is indeed a DCCD tranny. Same as I showed in my photo. If I were you, Id give Gruppe-S a call.

I will give Max a call tomorrow morning. Mine is TY856WB1AA and Chaste shows it up as STD front/Ctr/Rear diff. All info I have says it is a Suretrack Front diff as I requested.

Will let you know.

Saaaweeeeet! I have dccd! I was hoping i did have it on there even though i need to figure out how to hook it up now . What is the default setting if you don't hook up the dccd? I've read 35 front 65 rear, but then i've also read 50/50. Anybody know for sure on this one?

Does it have Suretrac or not? Thanks.

Also, what did it come out of?

Part numbers indicates No DCCD Suretrack-Yes

I preffer these to the DCCD ones. But that depends on what you want it for. If you are selling one, let me know.

Brent:

You CAN test it this way! How are you doing it? If it goes to the opposite direction, you have an OPEN diff, not a SureTrack.
