Thumbs up Your going to junk it?

I went to the tuners again tonight as part of my work release. Well OK its not work release its just part of a deal I made for the Pulsar. Just before close some guy comes in and says he wants to know where he can go to junk his Silvia. He says its not running right and doesn't want to bother with fixing it since its only a 92 or 93. Well we started to give the guy the name of a yard to go to but he interupts and asks if any of us need parts off of it before he junks it. Well by the time it was all said and done the guy agreed to give me the car and come back in the morning to sign over the car to me. I first thought he wanted something out of it but he kept saying take it its yours. Well turns out he was serious. He meant take it he didn't want it. So now I have a 92 or 93 model Silvia turbo sitting inside the tuners and I didn't pay a damn dime for it. Or I mean I didn't even pay 10 Yen for it. Closest guess is he never did maintenance on it and it needs some help. He drove the car in so we know it runs. Gonna have to weld the rear axle for drifting and hunt down the engine trouble. It just stumbles when you first hit the gas. So this turned out to be one hell of a day. Good tuners! Cut me a deal on the Pulsar and ended up getting me a free Silvia. Too bad winter's closing in.

Oh yah and the Silvia still has 9 months of JCI on it. For those who have been to Japan or live here you will know what I am talking about.

I'm still waiting for Subaru to call me and say, "You want this '00 Impreza WRC car? Here, take it. It's yours."

Lucky bastard!

Dang it N/A, why couldn't you talk him out of a '96? I'd pay for the shipping crate!

I have the US version... under-powered but WOW does it handle...

N/A, how about I give you a shiny quarter and cost of shipping and you sell it to me? You'd make a profit. So what do you think? No? hmmm....

Cool

Hey, what's going to become of it when you move back to the US? I say fix up the engine and have it sent back so you can put it in a 200sx .

The JDM version of the Silvia is anything but under powered. The turbo makes it pull very strong. I only intend to drift the thing anyways so I don't really care about how it handles. I'm just not sure when I will find time to get the engine fixed. Right now I seen to be out of free time. When I get ready to leave I will let you guys know about getting the engine and tranny if you are still interested then. I won't be needing it for a US project car since I am after a Galant VR4.

Dude, don't listen to that Jonathan guy, he's just trying to rip you off. I'll give you an entire dollar for it! That's four times what he offered you.
Seriously though, that's a helluva find. Good job.
