Post The Subaru Chronicles and McMullen-Argus

Not sure if I spelled that right, but it's my first attempt at a title at 11:30pm on a weeknite! I don't know who has tried what with the creation of this Subaru magazine, but I'm a decent programmer and I was a journalist for two years, so I'd be willing to help.
I talked to McMullen-Argus publishing a few month ago about a position, but I know I priced myself out of the market, by asking for a programmer's salary. Shiv might attest that it just isn't the same, I don't really know. But anyway, I mentioned bringing both of those skillsets, but never got past a few initial letters.
If you want to do this, make it a free e-zine at first and see how it goes. Money from advertising is a definite possibility, but profit doesn't appear to be anyone's immediate motive. There are plenty of us here who could possibly contribute to the e-zine, and not just offer suggestions on how they want it to look. It'll only be what the people working on it will make it be. I'm putting three gigs of hardrive space, my junior level computer + journalism knowledge, and my BALLS on the table... If anyone wants to raise the ante, feel free. I have the space if people want to start sending me pages. I'll take plain HTML all the way up to Flash...Pictures to video to sound clips. Not everyone has the means to produce these, however. But, if the equipment is gathering dust to convert taped media to computer formats, then use it! If more people have the skills, dedication, and the equipment, then SPEAK UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The media is there, you just have to use it. "Build it, and they will come" seems to be a token phrase of what sells on the internet. Cable modems and better software are available, so we can incorporate more streaming video. Most of the web pages out there are still static! Some of the few that have animation are just moving words, fade effects, and annoying looping sound beats.
If we're gonna do this, then let's beat the competition the best way possible...by total annihilation!
Ahh crap, my soap box broke! Let me know who's REALLY interested in contributing to this crazy scheme!

Gary
