Hi there,
Could anybody in Colorado please tell me how long it takes for a DWAI to fall off your driving record? I know in NY it's ten years, but I was wondering if it's less than that?
Thanks!'

As a former Wyoming police officer I think the answer to that question is 6 years, but it also depends on if it was misdemeanor or felony. Hope that helps.

It was a misdemeanor. I got it when I was visiting my cousin a couple years ago. The officer said if I had been 21 I would have been within the legal limit, but because I was only 19 he had to give me a ticket. Which is understandable but I just want to know when it's going to go away! If it's only a misdemeanor does that cut the time a bit shorter?

after lots of searching for traffic laws and such...DUI/DWI/DWAI/etc. in Colorado stays on your driving record for life.

for "regular" infractions it's 7 years, but they sure don't joke around with DUI/DWI

Driving While Ability Impaired. >.05 or above Legal limit for DUI per se is .10

It stays on there forever too. 12 points for DUI 6-8 points DWAI
