Ok ok ok, I did a search on the forums. I searched google. And, I still can't find my answer.
My dad has had this FOB for my outback laying around since we bought it (1998). The FOB was a replacement, because we lost the original one. Since then, we have never programmed it, because we didn't know how, and it was never really a priority. Here's my question: How do I program this FOB? I am in a 1998 Subaru Outback.

Try searching/posting at either www.usmb.net or www.subaruoutback.org
Look on the back, the FCC numbers have to be compatible with your system - if it came from ebay it may not be the correct freq. sorry I don't know more. |

WE bought it from the dealer. It looks exactly the same as the original.

try searching/posting the forum at www.usmb.net - someone probably has that section of the owners manual around.

I figured it out. The programming button was never connected at the factory, go figure...
So, I used some electrical tape, and connected it. And in the process of programming, locked both sets of keys in my car (see other thread)... But yeah, now everything is back to normal. But the second remote still doesn't work, I gave up. Maybe it's a bad battery, who knows. |
