Default Tire damaged (wintersport m3) need advice. (pics inside)

I only have about 1000mi on these and last Sat I think that some rode debris was kicked up or something, but I really don't remember hearing this happen. It was definately not a curb.

I just picked these up from Tire Rack and had them mounted locally, but if I get another tire, would a 1000mi difference in radius mess anything up or am I being too anal?

Can I drive on these for a while or should I swap back to my non-winter-friendly S-03's and drive grandma around until I get another tire?

The damage is a 1x1in square that is 1/4in deep in the lip of the sidewall.

Advice?

I feel your pain
I took out 2 of my 225/40/18 Dunlop M3's after a week and about 25miles on them along with 2 Subzero's.
Your sidewall is damaged, take the tire and throw it away, you cant fix it.
I dont know if only putting one new M3 would hurt anything, but since you only have 1000 miles on the tires it should be ok.

unless it's actually snowy or icy outside, there's no reason your S03s won't feel great.

all depends on how thick the sidewall was constructed on that model. Listen to luke, as he would have the best access to that info.

i have a bigger chunk of sidewall misssing from one of my Avid H4s, and handles like a champ. OK, the screw in the bottom of it gave me a little concern, but easily remedied with some fix a flat!

I bought them from TR and I believe I have the road hazard warranty as well...is this covered under that?

Also, I believe these tires are run-flat's?

Thanks.

Luke: what is the procedure for getting the warranty done, as I had them shipped to a local shop and mounted there using the TR coupon.

It would be nice if my webserver would come back up so that the pics would load =P
