hey ppl,
tried doing a search but can't find anything. just wondering if i can fit a 215/55/16 on my stock 99 5-spoke cause it seems that if i wanna go 215's there are not many tires that come in 215/50/16, but a bunch in 215/55/16. TIA!

Actually, the sidewall depth of 55 is the correct one for your car anyway. As far as the wider tire goes, it will fit fine. That rim can go wider than that(225's will fit), too bad your fender can't!

Keep in mind that the sidewall on a 205/55 is 112.75mm tall and and a 215/55 is 118.25 - you'll be effectively raising the gearing of the car...and not significantly increasing the grip by increasing the width 10mm.
Just something to think about. |

oh these tires things confuse me...
so then, if you want to affectively increase grip by increasing the width, then would 215/50 be the best choice? |
