Ladies, Ladies........search......j/k lol

You'd have to modify the joints for the steering rack (make a hybrid). Someone on here did it. It would require cutting and welding.

I test fitted the GD rack in my 95L but found out the splines didn't match up, so we put the L rack back in.

hmm. i should reply with somthing crazy like i usually do on random noob posts........steering rack is a hard one thoug..hmm...lemme try:

to use GDA steering rack would be betterly benefitted by the use of a JDM S202+1 special steering rack, it is hybrid of rack in relation to the S2000 SS rack that is changable style 2.2 l-l to 1.7 l-l. u use button push and it are change teh correlation of steering wheel to rack movement. perhaps.

cool. that makes absolutely no sense.

the only reason that gd rack was fanangled onto a gm body was because it was an sti quick rack. other than that, i'm not sure if it would be worth the hassle.

Does anyone know what the actual spline counts are? This is something I'd like to try to do, too (well, in my case, GDA into BD). I'm not big on the cutting and welding thing, though.

Here's what i know: I have a 03 jdm wrx crossmember in my legacy. I have a steering rack from a 93 turbo legacy in the wrx crossmember.
I tried the wrx (02 usdm one) and the steering linkage spline was different as someone else mentioned. So me being me i took them both apart to change the splines as they looked identical.
that's what i got out of that! Subaru got creative on us, so don't bother trying to exchange the spline in the steering rack.
You could get a wrx steering column which i'm going to try this as soon as this guy gets me some pics. Or you could make a hybrid steering linkage with legacy spline on one side and wrx on the other.
As far as the o2 wrx steering rack fitting, it looks identical to the 93 one, so i think it would.
The power steering lines are some what different though. The steering rods that come out of the power steering rack to the hubs are identical in length compared to the older track versus the newer 20mm wider track.

The pins I suggest drilling out are on the plastic cush drive in the center. the U-joints at either end do not appear to be easily removeable.

So if you've got the GD rack and steering column, what else would have to be modified to fit the GC.. anything?
