i put dunlop sp5000's in that size on the stock wrx rims. looks a bit chubby but fit. nothing a little more air pressure can't cure. there are pics in this forum somewhere.

check tire specs for recommended wheel width requirements. I'm sure not all 225/50/16s can be mounted on a 6.5" wheel, but most of the popular ones do.

Has anyone run 225/50 16's on Rota Slipstreams on a wagon? I found a really nifty tire calculator in another thread that indicates I would be looking at an extra 1/2" of tire on the outside (because the offset on the slipstream is 48mm).. I'm just wondering if they are going to rub.

I am running 225/50 16 on my WRX, but they are mounted on 98' gold RS wheels(16x7), I love em, great fit on 7" wide wheel. I think you pushing it with a 6.5" wide wheel!
They look great and I am loving the wider tires, makes car look meaner and oh yeah, better grip!! Eric |

I run 225/50s on the stock wheel for winter use. Won't be doing that again. 205/50s for me.
