Am I getting confused on the rice thing? Does it really matter what badges he uses as long as he ins't all show and no go? Wilwood brakes, carbon strut bars, better suspension (not cut springs or lowered too much) and engine stuff that was already done. Sounds like he is going for something other then show. I have STI VersionIV suspension, GAB strut bars, P1 brakes, P1 seats, C-West front end and as soon as Rallispec builds a turbo I will have one installed. That or wait to see what comes of the ASR turbo with proper management from a TEC system. I think it is ricey to have badges or stickers for parts you don't run. Since alot of us are using the STI parts I don't see a big deal with using the badges. It isn't like I am using a WRX badge or Type-R badge. My car is still a RS, just now it is a RS with STI parts.

Hey O.
The brakes look awesome. So is Subaru making the 2.5RS ricey because they put the hood scoop without the Turbo, Humm..... We put the badges on because we want what we can NOT get. I badged my car and sent the Pics to SOA and asked them nicely to please bring over the STi Parts and If Possible the full Impreza Line-up. Hey, how many of you have actually seen and STi, I have I've ridden in the WRX and I want the Power. |

other pics of my car can be found on my website .
these pics are old though, i will get some new ones with my Seedlines and Ver 5 wing next week... for a list of mods, just click the link for it on my car's page.... and my car is NO rice-a-roni... i have 7 years experience in racing and the car is tuned for the track as a club-racer, meaning it's also a dayly driver... before i knew i was moving to New Zealand i was out to build myself something i could not buy at the dealership and that's my favorite car... now the turbo is still going in the car in about 2-3 weeks even thiugh i'm selling it in January. Needless to say i already have plans to buy the real thing when i move there. and Snoopy, the brakes are amazing, very light compared to the original ones and so damn strong, i never thought i'd use anything made in usa on my car but i have to admit i'm impressed. the stoping power is a little agressive for the N/A car and the race compound pads for the rear are a must to balance it out. one down side is the amount of brake dust produced in a day, anyone wanting to have perfectly clean wheels all the time stay away from these but that's the price you pay for performance. June 6 i'm leaving for NZ for a month and wiil be shopping for my new car and possibly buying it then also, since my father lives there i can leave it there.... O/... |

So let me get this straight, if my integra has a lot of type R goodies installed, its ok to put a integra type R badge on it?
I didnt think so... No flames, just an observation.. Btw ownly, where did you get the subaru stickers for the rims (the my00's ive seen dont have that) i think they add a little character to otherwise bland looking rims (compared to my99 or 98's rims) [This message has been edited by ProgSi (edited May 23, 2000).] |

Prog, actually what I am talking about would be the equivelant of you putting Comptech stickers or badges on your car. STi builds cars but they mostly just make parts. I don't have the WRX stickers cause the car isn't one. It does have alot of STI parts on it. I just think the factory STI side badges look better then vinyl stickers. Oh Prog what do you think of the rumors of the Integra ending its production run with Acura/Honda?

no, don't, if it isn't a type-R, you'll get "Rice boy" comments left and right. If you can beat a Type-R around the track, then why would you want to put a badge of a slower ride on your car?
The STi thing is like Honda owners putting NuSpeed (sp?) stickers on theirs. They have NuS parts, so they toss on the sticker, we have STi stuff on, so we toss on the badges. |

I am getting tired of these silly debates.
A guy posts stuff about his brake upgrade, you take a pic and slap him for the badge. Full disclosure - I have one too on my BRP. Hey ownly how much? How much has your 60-0 decreased since? Any numbers? Or are they on your webpage? |

Hey ownly I could help but notice the Subaru on your 00 wheels. How?
And I guess with the 60-0 as soon as you get rid of the suck a$$ REs your skidpad will really dance ![]() |

ownly, is the strut bar the orignal STI unit or is it one of the knock-offs that are available for about half the cost? Reason is I was thinking of getting the knock-off front brace but I wasn't sure it would work with a future intercooler. Would you know if it is true about it not fitting behind the Minnam cooler? Is there anyway to flip it around the other way? Oh good job on the brakes, but what suspension are you using to lower it that much in the front? My STI ones don't lower the front that much. I was looking at TEIN but my recent big purchase cut way into the suspension upgrade.

Ok so the confusion stems from type R not really being a parts manufacturer, i just thought that STi was a impreza model itself(aside from being a tuner). Even though you CAN buy any of the type R parts and fit it into any integra/civic (even the engine) type R itself isnt a tuner/manufacturer, its just a designation by honda.. The integra will most likely be back for my01, untouched (3rd gen design). They say that along with the new gen,(im guessing my02) they will drop the name and go with the alphanumeric designation on the other acuras.. other rumors say that it will have a bigger (2.0 or 2.2l engine) with 200hp in normal configuration and 220 in type R config) There are rumors of it being front engine/rwd. but thats not likely.. |

Yo man,
Nice fuqin car dude! I wish I could ride in that beast! What an awsome car you have! Those brakes must be great! The must stop on a dime. And how about those seats, it must be fun for the third passenger. Just kiding! I am practically ownly's neighbor! Can't wait to see those Speedlines on your car! Oh, and if one car was to have STi all over it, it would be ownly's car! Even though it dosen't have all STi hardware on it, with the turbo coming and with the amazing brakes, and suspension, I believe that ownly's car will be as close to an STi as possible and maybe even better! hehe! Montreal is going turbo crazy, it's amazing! Take care Jan |

OK quick question. Does it count as rice if I have the the Prodrive center caps on my stock MY99 16in rims? I totally forgot about the center caps. I don't have a damn thing Prodrive on the car except for the fact that the brakes and seats just came out of a P1. Oh well I guess I will just have to add something Prodrive later on then. Another excuse to buy something car related.

Nice brakes, did they bolt right on or did you have to make new mounts? If they bolted on directly may I ask which model caliper they are? Thanks nice job.
