So I take it they send an entire assembly instead of just the shifter part?

lol we just got ours too they are beefy!

What material is it made of?
The shifter uses the same materials as the stock unit plus it includes the Subaru parts warranty. Ask about details on the warranty.

What benefit will this have on my car?
You will feel a quicker, crisper shift yet it maintains the same smooth feel as the stock shifter. The amount of fore, aft, and lateral play in the shifter is minimized providing shorter distances to shift gears. Quicker into gear equals quicker acceleration.

Will I have to modify my STi?
Because Subaru makes this part, You donít need any extra parts! It will fit just like the stock shifter. This shifter is made to bolt onto your STi - No modifications!

I'll get some side by side photos tonight.

I plan to take some measurements to see how much shorter the throws are.

More to follow...

Well, mine is installed.

This rates "10 wrenches" on my scale. BTW - I rate up-pipes a 5.

This was a MAJOR PITA!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's different you ask, 3/8 of an inch change on the fulcrum point and different bushings at the knuckle going into the tranny. Every thing else measured out the same, even the height

It did shorten the throw and eliminated all my side to side slop.

Pictures tonight.

Hey shaun,

if you're able to can you take a picture of how the linkage works for the reverse engagement? or if its different on the Short shifter versus the stock shifter.

thanks
Brad

Brad,

The reverse cable is exactly the same on both. The new shifter even came perfectly adjusted.

Pictures up shortly,

Shaun

Shortened the throw ONLY, shifter is not any shorter.

Worth the cake? My side to side play is gone, I can hear the gear changes, I like the shorter shift pattern, I guess so.
