Default Emmissions in SLC

I have a stage 4 wagon with high flow cat, fmic etc. I think it will pass the sniffer, but not sure about visual. How is Utah about the visuals? I might have to move to SLC and dont want any surprises.

Thanks

I have not had any real problems other than with window tinting. The front windows need at least 60% of the light coming in. If you live in Summit County, you do not need to worry about emissions. You just need to pass a safety inspection. Unless things have drastically changed since the last time I needed a check you should be okay.

actually legal front tint is >= 43% My 50% tint is definitely legal. Not sure about visual, though. I haven't had to do it yet. I'm planning on putting my stock downpipe back on, and I don't think they'll even know about the cat in the uppipe let alone be able to locate it.

Also, I was wondering about if I would get a hard time for removing my side markers and painting the headlights. Anyone have any experience getting a safety inspection without sidemarkers?

If you take it to a dealership (not Subaru) then all they will do is verify that all your lights turn on etc (standard safety) then they plug your car into an OBD-II reader and verify that the system is not in reset mode and that no DTCs exist.

I passed easily this past summer at a Jiffy Lube. I didnt see any visual inspection to speak of. They made sure the lights worked and I think tinting could get you in trouble. Other than that, they cannot test under load with AWD vehicles (there is only 1 AWD dyno in town I think, and thats at Cobb/MG). I am running a TXS Stealthback with a hi-flow cat and passed with "flying colors"...
