Unhappy Another one bites the dust...

I totalled my 96 Outback yesterday. Spun off a rain slick road at significant speed, hit a light pole as I was moving sideways. Left front completely demolished, the impact even pulled the left cam out of the engine. Rear
suspension bent. No injury. Now, my wife is NEVER going to let me drive her RS. I am guilty of being overconfident having AWD, 4 disc brakes and ABS. A word to the wise.
PS Looking for a good used Impreza wagon.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, maybe you can steal her keys while she isn't looking.

But yeah, it happens... I got over that one pretty quick with a reality check on my way home from work just after I got mine. Came around the corner and gave it gas and it went directly sideways! Fortunately I came out of it.

I find that a tap of the e-brake helps aroud slick corners at high speeds if you don't expect to stick it 100%, kinda gives the rear end momentum of it's own, though I'm sure the 22mm rear sway bar setting helps.

*Warning* Do not try this unless you are a trained professional, and you are on a closed track wearing full safety gear with ambulances nearby. Trunk monkeys are optional but definetly help in this maneuver. Hell if I want to be responsible for more scooby accidents... lol

Sorry your car got totaled, but glad to hear that you're uninjured.
Just think, maybe with the insurance money you can get a turbo impreza in a year...

Just be a little more careful when you do.

Accidents happen to everyone, too bad you were one of them.
