Post rao, I suggest you give everyone a heads up.

I think you should give everyone some information as to what happened with the supercharger. Seriously. You've waited and waited, everyone here has waited on you waiting, and now suddenly, this. People were waiting to hear about some actual installs before spending their hard earned money on this kit.

Obviously you don't HAVE to, but I think you should. I hope that Al (ARG) does after his installation, too.

Have a Nice Day?

If he is considering litigation against Rimmer, specific comments on his experience may not be a good idea to float here in public...

I can't see how facts alone would hurt, but I'm sure the thread would develop into "Rimmer Sucks!" with a ton of folks chipping in their 2 cents about how they suck.

And I can't believe Geoff (SabreLion) seemingly has never gotten his money back from Rimmer. I wouldn't write off $3200 without going after it.

Well I personally take a silent stance as a negative one. I was thinking of an SC from rimmer, but I've heard from my dealer that Rimmer has changed names, gone out of business, and all kinds of not-so-good stuff. Also they never replied to my multiple e-mails for information. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with Steve, unless there are legal reasons (ColinL) please disclose.
I dont think anyone has had good experience with Rimmer. personally I waited 3-4 months for my kit. They did answer the phone and reply to emails, but I did wait a LONG time. I got a lot of '2 weeks' responses from them.

I don't know how to say this in any different way, but I have absolutely nothing to say about the kit at this time.

Thumbs down

I dont want to stir any trouble, but since this exact thing has happened to me before (close to rao's case) im gonna speak my mind and maybe even shed some light on this mystery.

I was one of the first people to see the prototype supercharger kit at Mike Shields house @ the NvS LA trip.
I could tell just looking at it, that supercharger could be a useful technology for the impreza. (only because he had no boost guages or anything for protection) It needed a *LOT* of work. And by a lot I mean massssive ammount of work just to get it into a 'selling' state. I think rimmer, who wants to make money the easy way, sold their kit prematurely and the kit is all messed up. I'm putting my dime on the fact that all of the parts are STILL not at robert's house and will still not be there for months to come. Robert, in an reconstructive action, thought about it and said to himself "I can get an S4 w/ twin-turbo, without all this bull****" Ironic thing is, haha *I TOTALLY AGREE WITH HIM* I too myself was very very interested in the S4, and was thinking of buying it. However, im also thinking about another car, which is just as good as the S4. Let's face it guys. THe Subaru Impreza forced induction/supercharger kit scene is complete ****ing bull****. All these ******* companies like JC, Minnam, and Rimmer don't know what the **** they're doing and how to treat their customers with respect and dignity. With that said, Good Luck to you robert, and if you don't get the Blue S4 w/ blue alcantra seating, *IM* gonna come over there and literally .. nevermind hehe

Colin, I think that "Rimmer Sucks" has already started.
As for information from rao / robert. i respect his decision not telling anyone yet, and I will be eagerly listening to what he has to say in the future....

This is kinda OT, but STiSev, isn't the S4 base invoice around $34,000 with a MSRP of $38,425? Granted, S4 has a factory turbo AND is much more refined than the RS, but the car is $16,000 more than the RS!

I don't think ALL forced induction is bull****. There are quite a few guys running the Minnam turbo kit, and loving it. My brother is one of them (trust me, he LOVES that car, and with good reason).

And the S4 is a great car, but it's twice the price. There were a few at a local dealer with $42K on the sticker, and they were not budging on the price.

Personally I wished I had looked at the S4 before the Impreza, though I would have never been able to afford it (that blue kicks ass!). I've run a rally with them before and they're nothing short of amazing. 300+ hp with just a chip... how can you not love that fact?

Unhappy

Well, if I had enough money up front, I *might* have went with the S4. A whole lot better performance on the straights.

I said might, because I read somewhere on the net that S4 handling is still sub-par compared to the M3. Of course, there's is our mighty 22B, or even the WRX STi RA that we couldn't get. That's all after the fact, and now my main objective is to for warranty to expire, and save enough money for mods. Now if you haven't heard my story.....
