Just watched the show...
Anyone think that cow made it? 'Juha will have the veal.'
Burns smoked everyone in that 'old school' Impreza. I don't know how anyone can beat him in the Championship in his new car.
May be too early to say but, Burns will win the WRC.

I heard that the car is so good that Reid will drive the next few races to give 'Burnsy' a rest. Prodrive has made him a cot that fits in the back with a wetbar. Robert's only instruction is to finish, not wake up Burns and NEVER spill his drink.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think the coverage could be a lot better. I watch it to see rally cars in action. It takes a lot of skill to drive a rally car, but mostly I see the cars just driving at high speed in a straight line without much cornering or anything - i.e. no exciting bits. It makes it look like a procession and like something anyone could do. Like the producers are more interested in the times the drivers did than the actual driving.

Plus they show you a short clip of the car in action, then a driver interview that takes longer than the clip of the car, then back to another short clip of another car, then another driver interview etc. etc.

What do you guys think?

Yeah, the coverage could be better. I'd really like the show to be an hour long (more rally, yeah!), but mostly so that we could still get the interviews (hey, I like to hear from the drivers) while at the same time actually be able to see the cars in action for more than a few seconds.

The reason why you saw straight line high speed is coz the Safari Rally is primarily straight roads.....albeit ruff as hell.

I wish that they would just make it about 2 hours longer with more driving. Then again, I wish that SWRT would call me at work and ask me to drive for them.

I think the coverage of the event in Sweden was the best yet. Part of the problem with showing the cars in action is that you either (1) have a stationary camera that only sees the car for a few seconds, or (2) use an expensive helicopter to follow the cars. Of course, there's also the in car cameras, I'm not sure why they don't show more in car footage as that is truly amazing stuff.

Gambit, I was also wondering whether or not they stopped somewhere before getting to the tents. All the drivers got out wearing just a short sleeve shirt!! I know it's hot over there, but I can't imagine they'd race without a regular racing suit on.

OK this is what I don't get. You know how when the cars return to their tents, how come they are so clean? I thought no one is to touch the car until it reaches their respective tents?!
