Are there any disadvantages to having TE37 17X8" wheels on the front and 17X9" on the back? Would there be rubbing in the back? Since they don't turn I can't imagine it....
I ask because someone is selling a set but they are 8 and 9 inch wheels.

I think as long as you put the same tire on all rims, you should be OK. What are the offsets?
There was an article in SCC a while back about some Japanese racing Impreza that had different sized wheels, front and rear, but the same size tires. This was done to help stiffen the sidewall on one end of the car, I just don't remember if the wider wheels were in the front or rear. |

The wider wheels were on the front of the car to gain better cornering/turning ability. I forget which Impreza it was, but I read that article too. K |

TE-37 17"X8 and 17X9 with 44 offsets. Will this work or not? I will tell you know so the bidding war can begin but there is a guy selling a set of Volks with this set-up on ebay. It caould be a very good deal and I'm certainly in the market right now for some volks.

Yes it will work. You want the 9" wide ones in the front, 8" in the rear. 245/40-17 is the tire size to run, front and rear. I run 17x9" et50 front, 17x8.5" et48 in the rear, with 255/40-17 tires. Seems to work well. Kevin |
