Default Rear Shelf/Trunk Noise - Popping/Clicking

I have been hearing a popping/ticking noise coming from the passenger side, rear shelf/window area. Almost like tapping knuckles down the side of a television.

It occurs at lower speeds (>35), driving on uneven ground, turning corners/bends, as well as, going uphill/downhill or pulling in/out of driveways. I have checked the seat locks/latches, trunk, and license plate just in case, but nothing appears to be loose—that I can see.

I brought my car in and they said that the headliner was loose, which was causing the noises. They replaced the headliner, but the noise is still there.

I received a Subaru TSB 12-140-12 (link below) from another forum, but it is for the 2013 BRZ.

Does anyone know if this would or could apply to a 2012 Legacy?

If there is something else that might be causing this noise to occur, please let me know!

Thank you!

Does the frequency of the sound change with road speed?
Does the sound change if the car is in gear/drive vs. neutral coasting?

If the frequency changes with speed, check the tire for a rock/nail, check the rear half-shaft for looseness, check the rear wheel bearing. See if you have outside window trim or similar that is loose that may be flapping in the wind.

If the sound does not change with vehicle speed, check the rear strut, rear anti-sway bar endlinks & chassis mounts. Also check the exhaust to see if a mount is gone.
