Wink What happens when you break it in? Hehe

I was just curious. I think I finally broke my engine in at c.15K miles. For some reason I am finding myself exceeding the speed limits more often and the car just wants to go faster and faster. I can feel it pulling me. It just sits there and begs me . . .even taunts me. It says things like "Is this all you got sissy boy. I'm not even sweating yet." So 100mph is pretty normal on an open Highway. 50mph in town for some reason just feels like the right speed. 35mph just seems like crawling all the time and the car doesn't like it. Is it just me or is the car alive. It's not the driver in control, it's the car controling the driver. "It's alive officer. I'm just a puppet. It tells me to do things. It makes me do things."

Do the cars just get this loose or is it just me?

Heh... it didn't take me but 100 miles to realize that this car pulls you along enough to never let you go the speed limit unless you're actively trying to drive slow (look, a cop!).

you guys should wait until 108,400 miles, with brand new heads. a 7 yr. old motor runs very good at 6,000 rpm's when you put new heads in it. altough it does sound like mad bumble bees in a can, well until i get my new filter put on it.

Exclamation

I think its actually when a medical condition starts to set in. Its not really the cars fault. The car is simply the tool used to deliver large doses of adrenalin. It is kind of like the cigarette company using cigarettes to deliver nicotine to people. So in a way when I say I'm addicted I'm not really joking. When you get in do you find yourself using the gas when starting the car even though you had to do that on the old carburated engines? Do you hit the gas just to hear that sweet rumble. Like when a cigarette junky rushes to light the first cigarette of the day then deeply inhales (or not if your the Pres). Then you find yourself looking for a reason to have a drive (like a smoker does a smoke). what your going to the mall to buy shoes? Hell i'll go with you, infact I'll even drive us. Then she says she wants to drive so I, um I mean you throw a fit and say nevermind the moments gone now and go back inside. When your driving the car you find yourself planning trips around which roads have more turns and less cops versus planning it by the shortest route? You start to refer to Alex as your Pusher, or Main Man? Does your heart start to race when you drive your car? By that I don't mean cause of the other drivers? So now we all know what is really happening to us. We're Subaru's version of a crack head. The test drive is just a teaser to get you hooked. Then once Subaru gets you hooked you find yourself coming back to them over and over again. Even asking for something stronger (turbo model). And that my friends is the rest of the story.

Unhappy

Seriously, though... I've noticed the cruise tends to gradually slip a few mph lower on long stretches of highway... I wonder what that's all about...

I'm feeling exactly the opposite lately. At 650 miles my engine feels kinda tired. I feel like I babied it too much, and sometimes I just want to push it or redline it to let him know there are still more revs up there. Haven't done it yet though

Talking

Had my car for less than 3 weeks (less than 5 miles of driving on weekdays)...ever since I passed that great 1k on the odometer, my baby has been to 6k rpm a dozen times, constantly at 5k, and passed 120 once...

now the car seems like its asleep in "normal" driving...hehe
