Question Does any one make clear taillights yet?

If so how much do they cost? Also, I'll be selling my Legacy and getting an RS in about two weeks (just need to decide on a color). Anyway, I want my first mod to be clear tails if possible, and I mean ALL clear, not just turn signals.

POKEMON?!?!?! Why not just go for some Altezza/Supra to be with some of the people above? All kidding aside I really don't think there is a market for them as only two or three people have posted about wanting them since most owners are more about go and then show. Alot of places they are illegal due to the content of red required to be in them as well as someone posted something involving a lawsuit with a civic being rearended and the owner being at fault due to the clear tails he had. But hey if you want them you can always find a place to make you a set though it may be expensive.

When I had my STI IV I wanted some clear/white rear lenses, but the company that I contacted in the UK called ABC designs said that they would not be available untill next year

Brucelee, no, I'm not referring to the STi lights. They're not 'clear', and as we all know make a nice visual improvement while avoiding any hints of Riceness. Factory parts do that well. All clear, or even Altezza/Maxima psuedo clear look hoky, and the rice crowd (and more frequently, the SUV crowd) are all on board. Saw a few (5) GMC SUVs on my road trip this weekend that had clear rears, and the brake lights were hooked up to amber lights.

Maybe I can teach my Trunk Monkey how to swing a bat while hanging out the window at 70mph...

Unhappy

Saw a 97 Impreza L w/ ALL clear rear and front lights with some 17" chrome 5 spoke wheels barely enought rubber on them to be called tires. Had a giant Coffee Can on the back and some crazy effects package. If it was riding any lower, he'd be throwing up sparcs. He was pumping so much bass that his whole car seemed to pulse and oscilate. Had Shag seat covers too. I figured he could do 0-60 in about 2 minutes.

That is it. You are now banned from owning a Subaru. Please return your car if possible, if not sell it immediately and buy a Honda.

This will not be tolerated. I will go after the person that molds and starts making these tail lights. Guaranteed.

Man, are you guys high and mighty. Who made you the style gods? If people didn't think clear tails looked good, none would be made. Its called taste, not everybody's is the same.

I haven't gotten my RS yet. So, I can't sell it or take it back. I may have them custom made depending on cost. Does anybody know if they are legal in Michigan?

P.S. I dare you to come after me.
Oh, and thanks imprezive.

Clear tailights are simply dangerous. The brake lights look pink and during a sunny day it makes it difficult to see the dude in front braking.

My 2 cents,

Just as it is okay for 1 person to say "I like clear taillights" it is okay for the others to say "I don't like them." It's nothing to do with being style police or anything.

Saying you don't like them is one thing. Saying you want to "come after" someone with them or take a baseball bat to their car is another.

They may look nice but they also pose a risk to other drivers. I would like to hook up a gas generator to a trailer so I can power a 450,000 watt trailer holding 40 18" Kove armaggedon's so I don't have to worry about my trunk rattling. I want to be able to set off the richter scale every time I drive around and give my trunk monkey a full body massage. But, if it poses risk to other driver it's just not nice. It's what we call rice. If you want your car just to look nice, leave it in the garage and don't make subaru drivers look like a$$holes like the ricer's that ruined honda's image, good car, bad drivers. Since there are only so many Impreza's wouldn't you like people to say, "Wow! That's a nice car! And what a polite Driver!" Instead of saying, "Oh no! Is that on of those silly honda's?" What's so bad about the Sti light's? At least they are legal. They also come off the rally car. Do the honduh clear lenses come off THEIR rally car?..... Oh yeah, They don't have one.

I will get the STi lights if my car is blue, clear if its white. The STis look just fine, I just want my car to stand out and clear tails do that. I realize that they are somewhat dangerous, but I am willing to take the risk. Maybe I'll just spend my money on a nice Supra wing.

P.S. I don't drive like a a$$hole and clear tails are legal where I live.

JC - You misunderstand.. I said I'd go after the guy that originally started making them. Going after end-users is simply a futile battle.

BTW, clear tail lights are not legal anywhere whether they glow red or not. If you haven't heard of anyone being pulled over for this yet, ask a few people who have them on their Hondas and see for yourself.

OK first off I say no to the Clear rears They look like crap in my opinion but why diss a honda because they don't have a rally car I happen to like BTCC racing they get pretty wild especially when it rains so just because it's not rally doesn't mean it's not good Hell most people think Hyundia's suck but yet they make a rally car.

PS Don't get the all clear rears

No offense 8 complex, but your wrong. A kid at school has some on his Eclipse, and has never been pulled over (for that at least). Plus, there are ALOT of trucks with them running around here (Nevada). Also, if I do make mine I'd sell 'em to anyone who wanted them.

JC, just out of curiousity, do you know what it takes to make your own taillights properly?
