Hey.
I have a 93 Impreza with a EJ18 engine. I want to modify that car I would like for it to be turbo, and AWD. Can anybody help me and tell me what engine to get and what would it cost me. The car is FWD, 1.8L.

Thank You.

hurry,
Delete this thread and pretend this never happened before you get flamed like nobody;s business for not doing any homework.

Then use your search button and do some serious reading. You are in the right place to find all the answers to those questions...

or you could wait untill i seeit and have some fun with it.

this time i will suggest a EJ25/20 variable compression with1 turbo and 3ohc.

run the EJ25 phase 1 block and crank and #1/#3 side with pistons and rods. run EJ20g #2/#4 side block with rods and pistons (so it will be about a 1.15+1.25=2.4L total displacement)

turbo with B4 sequential manifold on #2/#4 side, and run high compression 11:1 piston on NA EJ25 side. then u have combination of 11:1 compression, 8:1 turbo compression and big NA low end with turbo high end.

if you are dumb enough to doubt that it will fit togeather, then you are also dumb enough to not know how to read or use the search button.

flarf.

Buy a new car. Seriously. If you want a new engine AND AWD, it will be cheaper to just start out with what you want.

cheaper?? actualyl not, you can see my car and look at my excel spreadsheet that shows for whats in it it is cheaper from FWd.

inteligent for him to do? obviously not. kiddo dosnt know how to read, so obviously he cant do a FWD-->AWD conversion.

if he does, ill help him build a 3OHC

its probably a fine line. probably cheaper if you know what your doing and know how to get parts for the right price. but if he were to go to the dealer and buy new parts or something it would exceed the value of the car really quick.

I would say buy an old 93-96 impreza that is already AWD...makes life easier...then work from there...
I did the WRX engine swap and am loving it...
Take it easy, Micah
