Found some pics of the Penda tonneau cover for everyone. I personally like this one best of what's avalable.

Default Function

I like how it flush mounts with the bed rails better than the Snugtop cover. Word is, though, it's not exactly watertight. My only gripe is that it latches to the tailgate, so the cover must be raised to access the bed. But on the flipside, I hear it's easier to remove for larger objects.

Lockable?

Is the snugtop lockable?

The Snugtop is available from the factory right?

Snugtop is available from the Snugtop factory/dealers, but if you're thinking of the bed cover that is available at Subaru dealerships from the Subaru factory, that is a different, soft-cover one for less than $400. Check out snugtop's website for more info.

I'm not positive that the SnugTop is lockable, but it and the Penda both appear to be. The SnugTop IS available through the dealer, but mine in town quoted me over $1000 for one. Check your local independant dealer for a better price.

Does Penda have a website, or does anyone know where or how I can find a Pneda dealer in the Boston area?

Penda's site is PendaCorp they don't have the cover on their website. E-mail Cheryl Oelkers (mentioned earlier in this thread) and she'll put you in touch with a dealer in your area.

Question Any new input on bed covers?

I bought my Baja in March (I love it) and with winter approaching, understand the advantages of having a bed cover. It's remarkable how much windblown material accumulates. From reviewing the postings, it seems the Penda cover (price unknown) and the SnugLid (around $1000) are the top two choices.

Does anyone have long term experience from which they can compare the two? Thanks.

The snuglid is lockable and does hold out water for the most part until you open the lid. You have to open the lid to lower the tailgate. If there is water on the lid when you open it, the water runs in between the two pieces. For me, the longer I have the snuglid installed, the better the water tightness is. (I guess the dirt between the groves helps! ) I've even used the pressure washer to clean the car (not at the highest settings mind you) and didn't get water in the bed.
