Post Am I the only one still having problems with UBB preferences?

About 3 days ago I had gotten mine fixed - red folders were there, password was remembered, correct number of days displayed. That lasted for a single day. Now I'm back to the same old crap again - no red folders (very frustrating not knowing what is new and what isn't), and when I first get on the board it only gives me the last day's worth of stuff rather than 5 days. But if I go to post a reply it "knows" who I am and what my password is. What da heck is goin' on?

I just did the "delete preferences" and reset thing, we'll see how it works tomorrow (still no red folders now, but I believe I have to wait until I come back to the site for those to take effect).

Nope, me too. I haven't *****ed with it any more. Mine was working fine except for being unable to login directly to the personal messages (after I posted once I was okay) and after I deleted the cookies it's never worked right since... no red folders, no cached pwd, no default topic view...

Oh well, life is short so I post anyway.

I still don't get red folders either. Everything else works, but I've done everything possible and no matter what, no red folders.

Unhappy

I'm getting all light bulbs and red folders, like everything is new, because when I get to the main bulletin board page it says the last time I checked in was June 14th at 9pm. I've been here every day, several times a day. Everything else seems to work fine.

The red folder function works properly on the computer at work, so I must've messed something up here at home.

Guys,

I am really not sure... I have been reading and reading the UBB Tech Support site, and we're not the only one with these problems. UBB has some issues and we're suffering some of the worst ones.

The only thing we have almost definitly pinpointed it to is the cookies still being resident in the machine, or people using the incorrect link to get to the bulletin board. If you are using a bookmarked link to get to the bulletin board... DON'T. Unless it was made in the last 2 weeks it's pointing to the IP Address, not the domain name. To fix this... delete the bookmark, enter from the main site and bookmark it again.

Other than that... I'm not sure what the problem could be. Sorry folks... I am just as puzzled by this as you are.

Seems the bookmark problem fixed my issues with the red folders. Excellent!

Yep, it is the old shortcut. My folders and cached pwd are back!

Btw, still can't login directly to the private messages though... have to post at least once first.

Ian... Then you still need to go into prefs and after you have posted a message during your session choose to store the cookies.

Jay... not sure why youe still have trouble... make sure your cookies are totally deleted... just clearing the cache will not get rid of them.

Nick, I think that a lot of folks were using the old shortcut (IP) because when www.impreza-rs.com was down that was the only way to get here.

I personally never saw a message saying that the messageboard now had a DNS name, but then again I don't read everything. (even if it seems like I'm everywhere!)

Yup, my problem was shortcut related. Deleted my direct Forum shortcut, now I'm bookmarked to the main page, reset my preferences and everything is just peachy.

Thanks for the help everyone.
