Default Pre-2004 UK STi Rims?

Will pre-2004 UK STi Rims fit on the US Version of the 2004 STi?

I've got a friend who had them on his 2002 WRX and would be willing to sell them to me?

I kinda doubt it. I have UK STi rims on my RS. They are only 17x7's so I doubt they would clear the calipers.

Do you think they would at least clear the Stoptech caliper??? I'm gonna score some UK sti rims for a good price or at least TWR calipers.

people in the tri state have done this. they both have the same brembos don't they? i thought 04 Uk sti wheels are identical to pre-04 though. they are 7.5 wide not 7. if you don't want them though, i'll take em =)

brembos were available on last version iirc... they should clear the STi brakes just fine.

The Euro STi stock wheels are 17x7.5". The brake system in the JDM, GDB and USDM should be the same, so the Euro STi wheels should fit. However, they are heavy and difficult to wash!!!

Well i just found out that the rims didn't fit on the Stoptechs

There are 2 different sets of UK or JDM rims they have a specific names problay but i don't know them. The one that fit over the brembos or stoptechs have these dimples in the oround the rim but the still look like stock WRX 16's but in a 17 inch rim. Then there are the other ones that look like the stock WRX rims but in 17's of course but no dimples. I know this sounds funny but i have pics of the 2 different rims and the ones i was gonna get for a good price just won't fit If anyone want to see what im talking about PM or post you email addy and i'll send you the 2 different rim pics.

If they're the 17x7's then yes they'll fit Stoptechs and no they won't fit the STi Brembo calipers.

If they're the 17x7.5's then yes they'll fit both calipers.

Easy.

Default UK 17" rims vs. UK/JDM/World STi rims

The STi rims available on the STi all over the world except the US are 17x7.5 with a twin spoke pattern and dimples around the edge of the rim... I do not believe they are forged. (So you gotta be nuts to swap them out with the US's standard forged rims... unless you want to set up a winter tire package) You can see them by looking at a factory picture of a JDM STi or any 2001-2003 Bugeye STi.

The UK 17" rims are standard on the WRX in europe... go to the subaru website in the UK and check them out... 17x7. They will not clear the brembos but will clear the subaru 4 pot calipers.

This is almost exactly correct if db had limited "STi" to the sedan version only.

The European and JDM STi wagon(now-defunct) 01-02 came with the 17x7" wheels without the dimples painted gold. These are the same wheels that come stock in silver on the euro WRX. The wagon came with STi(non-Brembo) 4/2pots. All the STi sedans came with the 17x7.5" wheels and they will of course clear the Brembos, because all the New Age STi sedans come with Brembos. I would describe the 17x7.5" as a flared split spoke design with dimples vs the straight split spoke design on the US WRX 16x6.5" stockers and the afore-mentioned 17x7" wheels on the Euro WRX and STi wagon.

Lemme see if I can find some pics.

Sorta like the Euro and JDM STi wagon(would need to be gold) and sorta like the Euro WRX(would need to be silver,) these are actually anthracite and off a JDM B4:

edit: 17x7" and doesnt clear Brembos

Now i'm really confused a friend of mine w/ these rims who was selling them to me said he tried puting the on his stop techs and they didn't fit. Does stoptech make different sized rotors or what?? He has the 332 mm rotors. I could still buy them but he wants 800.oo so i can't get them now anyway.

Thanks for the pic Ellisnc
