Default 94 octane fuel in Calgary!

Perhaps this has been posted before but I just got a message from Husky Energy stating they've opened up their pumps to flow 94 octane fuel from a new station in Calgary. I've inquired about service in Edmonton and await a reply. Here are the details:

Dear valued customer:

Husky and Mohawk are please to announce the introduction of E94 into another Calgary location. Our Performance Plus 94 Octane is now available at the following stations:

Southill Mohawk - 8200 - 26 Street SE
Macleod Trail Husky Market - 4201 Macleod Tr. South.

We at Husky and Mohawk value your patronage, and hope you will continue to frequent our stores.

Regards,

Tawndra Calhoun

Yah, I got the email from them too and was excited when I read the email title, but when I read the message it was Calgary locations only. What are they thinking, that I'll drive to Calgary to get gas! I guess it doesn't matter. My car doesn't need 94 anyways.

Cue the monkey

94oct in B.C. is crazy expensive. I think it was $0.95/L when I was in Golden this past summer.

i don't even bother with 94 octane. its out of reach for me since i have to drive across the city to get it. at the moment my car is tuned for 91. when i tuned for 94 i could run quite a bit more timing advance and it made a very noticeable difference in power.

I always buy 94 at the SE location.

The real problem now is: what do I tune for? Right now I've got a UTEC with a remote switch, so I have multiple maps and I switch as needed. But, if I want to go ECUtek or AccessECU, do I ask for a 94 octane tune? Probably not, since that would risk my engine for those times I take a trip into low octane white spaces. So, if I get a 92 or 91 octane tune, what good is having 94 available?

To really be a hit, Husky needs to sell 94 at every location. Then I could get the most power; reliably.

I guess I'm stuck with the UTEC for now

Thought Petro-Canada had it for years now. We have 4 of them that i know of in the tiny ottawa-hull region. Plus there's a couple of Sunnoco's that sell it too. Thought it'd be the same everywhere
