Well, atleast i got to be the TESTER! Driving 200 miles ot pick them up, and back, in the same day, sitting in line at my buddy's tire place for 2 hours to have them installed, and they dont clear the brakes by atleast 1/4 inch in the front. Spacers are out of the question.....

The wheels are Advan RG 17x7.5 48mm.

I think the 17x8.5 would fit, but don't quote me on that.

If 17x7.5, +45mm doesn't fit over Stoptechs, +48mm definitely won't fit over the STi Brembos.

Actually that is a wrong statement the RG's do fit just not in that size. I noticed you don't have a 04' STi (under your info), so I am assuming you did a brake swap. Nevertheless here is the correct fitment info for the RG's on an STi as verified by WorldOne: Advan RG = 17x8.5_ET43__(16.5 lbs).

That statement's not entirely correct. A lot depends on the shape/design of the wheel as well. For example, Rota SDRs and Tarmac IIs have a 48mm offset and clear the STi Brembos. The Prodrive PFF7s have a 51mm offset and also clear due to the curvature of wheel.

Its all about the wheel design not just the offset and diameter. My +48 and +53 offset 17in wheels both fit over the stis front calipers just fine. But if I got 18 inch sub zeros with a +48 I would need like a half inch spacer for them to fit due to the spoke design.

PFF7's are 18 x 8.

My point in this case is that even with the PFF7s being an 8" wide wheel and having a 51mm offset, it still fits around the Brembos. If the spokes didn't curve out as much as they do, they wouldn't clear (hence, wheel design). I was also trying to show that there are higher offset wheels that also clear, although that choice is limited (the stock BBS wheel is 17x7.5" with a 53mm offset).

where is the best place to buy PFF7's?

i unfortunately am almost in the same boat. i have the same wagon as CreoWRX, but i am running 18" +48 advan RG's with sti-4pots and they barely have 1mm clearance between the caliper and wheel spoke. i am converting (hopefully) to a 6spd sti setup and i bought the entire rear end of a wrecked sti, including both front and rear brembos... not sure whether to sell the brembo fronts, or sell my RG's

You're right. According to the Gruppe-S page, the Advan RG 17x8.5 +43 clears the STi calipers:

You can get them through any Prodrive dealer. I purchased mine through SPIMotorsports.com, and I recently purchased my 18x8" GC-010s from Z1auto.com

i know i can get it from any prodrive dealer... what i wanted to know was who has best price. i tried a confusing search of the classifieds section and i'm seeing price differences of as much as $400 for the same thing between dealers

Prodrive products are impossible to get at a discount anywhere.
Cheapest price I've seen on the PFF7 is FastWRX.com.....$359 each. But all the other reputable vendors are within $10 of that price. Beautiful wheel though. It's a bargain if you can get them in gold..............very rare.
