Default How many miles out of Toyo T1S?

I have one season (about 14k miles) on a set of Toyo Proxes T1S. I've never run any "Max. Performance" or "Ultra-High Performance" tires before and I'm wondering how many miles I should expect out of them. The wear didn't look too bad after one season. The car never sees the track, and I would call my driving not too aggressive compared to most NASIOCers. 30k miles ?

30k isn't unrealistic. I just replaced a set on my car and I think I figured out I had gotten 27k miles out of them. I let my alignment get a little out, so the left front tire was wearing excessively on the inner shoulder. If not for that, I probably would have left them on the car longer. (Oh, that and the torrential downpours and the utter lack of highway drainage out here in Hawaii - the car was floating quite noticeably at 60mph. Much better now with new, full tread depth tires).

My mileage was almost entirely street, with the exception of three track days - one day on my car, two days on my sister's WRX.

Prior to the T1-S's I had Firehawk SZ50EPs on the car, another ultra high performance tire with very similar characteristics. I got about 33k miles out of those.

Thanks, Pat. So it sounds like two Summers plus about a month or two for the Toyos.

Ah, but remember, Pat's "summers" are nearly year round! I think it has something to do with Hawaii.

LaterZ!

I got about 19,000 miles out mine- that's w/ approx 15 autox's (averaging a dozen runs-the advantage of a small region), two day driving school and a track day. I was very satisified w/ the wear.

Default Brakes are good, tires are fair

I dug up this old thread since today I put my Proxes back on for the Summer. I checked my pads and rotors for wear, so I thought I might as well measure the tread depth on the tires too. I measured about .170 inch (a little over 4 mm) depth. The tread depth when new is supposed to be 10.3 mm. Ack! I can't believe they've worn that much in only 14,000 miles. Maybe the wear rate drops off as you get further into the tread . . .?
