Default Switching to mobill 1

How many miles should I put on engine before switching to Mobill 1. Just completed my first oil change at 2500 miles. Doing a track day 1-31 do it before or wait till after? Thanks!

You'll get varying opinions on this. Some will say that now is fine. . others will say later. Personally, I waited until 10k miles before switching to synthetic. Decision is up to you.

I switched at 1500 miles on the wrx
my engine ran very well, and had above average dyno numbers. I may wait a little bit longer on the sti. idunno, 10k seems excessive to me though.

I just followed the service manual and changed at what it said there; oil and filter at 3000 miles. I made sure that after 1000 miles I drove with lots of gear changes, lots of different rpm gradients, lots of throttle, and lots of sportiness. I believe that makes a "strong" car.

Then I increased the power of the car, and drove sporty with 17" prodrives and summer/winter max performance tires.

Others will tell you wait for 15,000 to 20,000 miles, and some (including Mobil Oil) will say you can do it right away. I compromised the extremes and changed over at 3,000.

I changed to synthetic in my 87 300ZX at 600 miles (the manual said to do the 1st change at 600)), and the last 7,500 mile oil change was at 283,143 miles. So it didn't hurt that car, which still has a strong and tight engine.

I switched to Mobil 1 at 3,000 miles and my car currently doesn't burn any oil at 45,000 miles with 5k changes.

Yeah, but will it still be that good at 280,000 miles?
