Default Nice times

Those are really nice times.

Are you running stock weight on that run, near 3350 with driver?

It would be good to see the full slip, I'd like to see the split from the 1/8 mph to the 1/4, and the 60' time you were able to pull.

Damn! Great time. No N2O?? I didn't realize an 1820 would take you to that low a time without N20...Maybe on close to 30 psi

Default Lots of work

He's obviously put a lot of work into the car, and I don't blame him not telling every little thing he's done.

I don't tell everyone every detail about how I got my times either. I will point the intellegent and inquisitive in the right direction, but its up to them to solve the puzzle in their own way.

He's put a lot of time and money in dyno time and experimentation and I respect that.

For those who are curious about the general nature of his set up, here are some details gleaned from previous posts. Not saying this is the same set up, used on this run.

As AZscoobie showed over a year ago, There are folks out there that are way beyond what everyone assumes are the limits. Someone who works at it can get far more than the average Joe thinks out of a good setup with a careful methodical approach.

Ran 11.85 @ 122.5 last Friday night. Stock tranny, stock internals, all bolt on parts PE1820, UTEC, 25HP NOS, w/ a 1.92 60ft time.

Going back next week w/ better tires and the hopes of more traction.

... the car has over 100 dyno pulls on it and way over 100 quarter mile passes on it.

...for those that care the car only makes 363 whp, and is full interiored, like i said before its the little things that most people take for granted that increase the cars performance above what some would expect.

...for instance the up pipe has been changed so many times its not even funny, but I found ALOT of top end by playing with different inlet and outlet sizes, if you notice my MPH isn't so great until after the 1/8 mile, when the car gets into a longer gear thats when the mods that I spent the time on start to shine.

I personally think everything you need to know is in that info.

Nice job Coastal -- I think your working on some of the same issues I am.

Link to the slip. Car is full interiored, no gutbox here. It's all in the little things.

Very impressive. Would you mind my asking what was the elevation at the 1/4 mile strip you ran on? Thanks.

I definitely wasn't claiming BS, I was just very impressed by the time and was wondering what it took to get there. I totally respect if Coastal does not want to share this info and it sounds like a ton of boost, enough dyno time and C16 did the trick!

Keep pushing the limits man, that's really impressive stuff!

That and the Nitrous he already admits to using.

How much was the big debate in the last thread, although once you are using it, it doesn't really matter how much because it isn't all turbo (fwiw).

Good times.

Dan (Triple X) ran a 12.0 with an older PE1820 and no nitrous (stock 5MT, stock internals) so I don't see a 11.6 with nitrous being that far-fetched. Dan also ran a 11.8@121mph (no nitrous) using a FP Green on the stock 2L and stock 5MT.

nice times. those times are 110% believable. running the 1820 at FULL boost on c16 and spraying it with some good driving definetly adds up to a mid 11.

i haven't pushed my green to its full potential and without using nitrous my car went 11.80's on a 2 liter and stock gears. weights 3350. full exhaust, 17" rims, and full interior. 30 lbs of boost and a 50 shot would give me seriously low 11's. add a tighter geared box and who knows......i'd say 10.90's.
