Default Wrx front mount I/C on a older legacy?

Hi all, i'm wondering if i could get a front mount intercooler for a wrx and put it on my 96 legacy? I'm thinking the two cars are basically setup the same with just about everything in the same spot, so would this work?
I know some of the intercoolers come with a new front bumper beam, so there would be some cutting involved. I'm not worried about cutting up the bumper or the beam that's under it. I'm more concerned about the piping and if it would work or not?
Anyone ever tried it?
Brent
