Default Baja 2003 fog lamp bulb replacement; how to do it?

Hi,

I am stumped. I want to put a new lamp in my 2003 Baja fog lights but can not figure out how to access the lamp. There are two stainless clips on the lamps edge. Removing same does not seem to help. Nothing in manual, web, etc. Any ideas?

Carl

It should most defintly be in your owners manual.

you will probably have to remove the fog from the car as an assembly, unscrew the back to access the bulb.

Those clips are to reinforce the glue that glue the glass to the back of the lamp. You need to access the bulb from the back of the lamp assembly.

Hi,

Thank you for the advice. I have tried to remove the entire assembly to gain access to the lamp; no luck. It appears to me that a plastic fender liner may need to be removed to gain access to the bulb. Any thoughts on this?

Here is the paragraph on fog lamp bulb replacement from the Baja manual.

Front fog light
It may be difficult to replace the bulbs. Have your SUBARU dealer
replace the bulbs if necessary.

Subaru is not very helpfull, very expensive. A visit to the dealer to replace a fog lamp bulb!

Thanks for your help,
Carl

is it like the WRX check to see if there are screws holding it in from the front. The WRX has 3 screws and a LEVELN Screw in the front of the fog light that go into the bumper. Unscrew the three and the light pulls out. If its like a REX
